CD-ActionFeb 10, 2014A modest DLC for the most hard core Battlefield fans only. [02/2014, p.61]

DoMore of the same, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, if you don't have Premium or pre-ordered, don't bother wasting 15 bucks. Do not be swayed by the new bomber, as its presence on the battlefield is almost never felt, and frankly isn't even fun to use. There just isn't anything new here besides 4 mediocre maps and 5 mediocre guns.… Expand

Battlefield 4: China Rising adds 4 enormous maps into the game, bringing you an all out vehicle warfare madness. These maps, in my opinion, seem to be nothing special, but are very well full of detail and life by the moment you start playing. This is basically an "Armored Kill" kind of thing going on here. The only levolution I've actually seen (if I can even call it that) is blowing up those EOD bombs in the giant desert map called "Silk Road", so that was quite a bummer. The smallest map from what I've seen is Guilin peaks, thou it's also the most detailed, sprawling with large caves and detailed foliage everywhere. I favor "Dragon Pass" for its level design. You'll often hear a loud siren, signifying that a "bomber" has been deployed. Thou I'm not sure how it works, he'll shoot out some uh... bombs and obliterate anything it impacts on. The final map I didn't mention is Altai Range, which is basically a "Alborz Mountains", having an identical level design in Battlefield's 4 style. It's sprawling with mountains and a large dome on the center of the map that can get pretty heavy on fights.
Maybe I was expecting more, but in any case, these maps are.... very.... strange and.... massive, not bad, just... strange.… Expand

I am sorta disappointed. Some maps are HUGE and finally some space for proper dog fighting between mountains. But the problem is these maps are unbalanced. And where is my cover? after less then 10 minutes all the buildings are gone and you are a sitting duck for snipers and tanks. this makes it feel to an extend that its rushed and annoying. There is nothing new either, Its like battlefield Vietnam all over again. I expected a decent jungle/desert feel but its not giving me that.
One thing I miss the most is Levolution.. where is it? what do I need to shoot? Can this mountain collapse on our heads? nope.
I give this 5 out of 10 for the return of motorbikes (god I love those things)
The Details in the map are OK.
Teamwork feels more forced.. which is good.
One map for decent and fun dogfights (Beginner friendly as well).
I can't be really positive or negative about the rest.… Expand

That said, the maps in this expansion are absolute trash. Why did they think what we wanted was more maps for tanks and snipers? I've never seen a Battlefield expansion include such bad maps.… Expand
