When DICE buffs up the formidable war machine that is Battlefield Bad Company 2, their star multiplayer franchise, they use every last bit of cultural and movie folklore surrounding this cruel and well-covered conflict. Polished to the extreme, Vietnam enhances all the more the fun it gives us, and those typical moments of bravery.

A DLC that changes everything. A new addiction. [Feb 2011, p.76]

Five new maps, thirteen new weapons, and a setting that gives those 200+ hours Bad Company 2 addicts something new, Vietnam is just about one of the safest purchases you could make.

With Vietnam Battlefield Bad Company 2 becomes the most complete first person shooter of this year, and possible the best.

How DLC should be done. A chunk of game almost as substantial as the full release for a third of the price. [Feb 2011, p.94]

Bad Company 2: Vietnam is the best option to add extra value to the best on-line action shooter this far.

A lot of the usual equipment is missing, which doesn't matter too much because of the great atmosphere. But in the long run after getting all the gold medals, we'll go back to the main game.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Vietnam transports players to a whole new setting and delivers the same large scale, intense action fans expect, but yet expands the experience by emphasizing team play and skill to make it a truly worthy add-on.

Yes, different. Not better, not worse, but different.

Excellent maps, a focus on close-range combat, and great period atmosphere keep this downloadable add-on from feeling like more of the same.

Visceral game changer that provides almost too much bang for 15.8591 bucks. No innovations that further the title, though. [Mar 2011, p.104]

A generous and competent addition to Bad Company 2.

It's a solid add-on, especially if you don't care for the engineer and would just rather have solid FPS gunplay over the high-tech gadgets. It's not perfect, but the launch did go smoothly and it's a blast to play.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam is not DLC in the current-gen sense of the word. Instead, it's more like an expansion pack from the days of early-'Noughties' PC gaming; a whole new tack on the full game experience rather than a set of maps that only serve to intermittently prolong a game's appeal. For these reasons alone, it's worth the asking price.

There's a slickness to the combat, an intelligence to the map design, and a sense of atmosphere worth exploring, all wrapped up in a fast, fun, progressive experience that drip-feeds you goodies as you go.

Instead of building upon ideas introduced in Bad Company 2, Vietnam rolls everything back to the decade-old Battlefield 1942.

I love original Battlefield: Bad Company 2 but the atmosphere in Vietnam is much more intense than the original game. Not so much weapon choices but this is just an expansion pack and it deserves top point with its atmosphere. Full Review »

The best multiplayer game of the year gets better. Vietnam has closer quarters, and scopes on only recon guns. The Vietnam atmosphere is complete with music from the 1960s. In short, it's the best $15 I've ever spent. Full Review »

This expansion is a steal. If you thought the original Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was intense, prepare yourself for one of the craziest multiplayer experiences of the year. Full Review »
