Terrible Just Terrible :-( it looks cool, but the other players are total jerks, just because you have money doesn't mean that you play the game any better.
all people not like this game LEARN 2 PLAY!!! this free mmo. you pay or die. no free rides. deal with it! free to try you. want play more you pay. you have no job you have no money i hunt you down laugh at you blow up. not perfect rating. bored no challenge point click. you die. i die lag only. server slow. find me i blow you up.
Played this game for maybe a week straight. As your experience level goes up, the NPC's you have to fight to become stronger increases drastically. If you are not in a group you cannot level up without opening your wallet and shelling our real world cash in the store. Think you can grind the lower level NPC's to earn more credits to buy that new ship? Don't bother, NPC's below your level will drop less and less salvage. Meanwhile members of the opposing faction some of which are called 'Wallet warriors' (for having the best items the store can buy which give HUGE advantages in PVP) are constantly looking to gank you at every opportunity. Forming a group is near to impossible, chat system malfunctions constantly and there is no system in place to assist group creation. I should also mention that many of the ships in the game have significant blind spots and seriously: no joke I was killing other players 'Battleships' in my starter fighter with my cruddy light cannons (hardly fair for them). In the event your ship is destroyed you have to pay a repair fee, the bigger the ship, the higher the repair fee, even if you can afford that fancy ship by grinding asteroids for weeks...good luck trying to fix it without more **** PAYING MONEY!!!
All in all, don't play this game. It's fun for an hour or two...then the more you play the more you regret wasting your time on a system that is clearly designed to put a constant drain on your wallet and confer massive advantages to richer people...
Had fun for a while buts its very much six feet under at this point. Bigpoint will take your money and then nerf what you paid for. The have a fairly consistent failure rate with updates, content, and integrity. There is very much collusion between certain players and chat mods. If you spend money to get gear to high level it will perform better than a toon that has f2p their gear. This is deliberate to manipulate you to spend, don't fall for it. Rampant cheating as this is supposed to be a two sided game but most play both sides to their advantage. Bigpoint knows this is occuring but does absolutely nothing about it. If you have to dig up this old corpse ****, make sue to read the forums and decide for yourself
BSGO has never been very popular, probably because it's a low quality game. It looked great at first: Xbox/playstation quality in a browser game. On the surface, the graphics look pretty good: lots of detail. The problem is for a game they're terrible, you can't tell how far away things are, like asteroids, when you're turning with an enemy you can't tell if you're turning inside or outside. Stuff like that. The other problem is all of the bugs. They were so bad some game features couldn't be accessed and caused players' computers to crash. And Bigpoint wouldn't fix the problems for weeks or even months. The other problem is cheating. When you buy a product you expect to get your money's worth. When people cheat, it's pointless. Many people get confused and think the cheaters are 'wallet warriors,' it's simply not the case. There are YouTube videos of players getting over 150 points of damage with strike guns, or hitting for 50,70, 80, 60 points consecutively. It's impossible in BSGO to do that without cheating. No amount of money will get you that. The videos even show up now and then on BSGO forums, and BP doesn't do anything about it, even when their own servers are apparently being hacked.
I could put up with the problems, but like a lot of people said, the game gets very stale after a time. The ships have huge firing arcs and there isn't much skill needed to hit something. Most strike pilots use the slide, which winds up being a test of who cheats the most or has the most level 15 (max level) gear. Either that, or they cheat and out turn you even if you have about five level 15 gyros. There aren't really any skills that can be developed there, and you hardly get a chance to try something new, and if you get a chance, it can help only so much. I've tried almost every combination of equipment, all at max level, which took a huge commitment of game time, and no matter what, I was getting clobbered all the time by players that looked like total losers. It's because of all of the cheats.
The other problem is the repetitiveness of the game and the fact to get level 15 junk for even the smallest ship can take about a year of playing every day for at least 4 hours a day. Part of the problem is you'll need multiple, different set ups for each ship. So either add a few hours a day, or a few years, your choice. Of course you can always pay, but this game is very expensive, You'll need max level gear to be competitive and to buy it costs at least $1000 for the smallest ship.
The last, and very important thing, is with so much hacking involved, I stopped playing because I was concerned about the safety of my computer. Since starting to play BSGO, I've had to buy 5 computers, that is if I wanted to continue playing. Since I quit playing BSGO, I've had far fewer computer problems. I think there might be a connection there. I'm not alone in this experience.
I would suggest that you might have fun trying the game, but unless you want to keep buying computers and being frustrated all the time, that you should play another game.
I've played this game for over 3 years, and I've finally had it with this piece of **** Never mind the constant unity crashes, slow loading, and laggy servers... they ****, but the game is almost fun enough to put up with that crap. But what has killed this game is Big Point's constant greedy needling of players, dangling special "offers" in your face when you get blown up by someone 3 times your level, and the final straw: giving wallet warriors a new stealth ship that can appear from nowhere, blast you out of the sky, and then disappear before anyone can shoot them. This takes ZERO skill, and is only done by about 3 dozen complete cowards, but it completely ruins the game. I have spent over $300 ($30 here, $100 there) getting HUGE credit packs, and after all that money and 40 months of daily play, I should NOT be constantly defenseless against these packs of zit-rump tweens in the $700 stealth their mommy bought them for coward's day.
Oh, and if you complain about these cowards and call them names, the chat mods will ban ****'t have you hurting the feelwings of these wittle cash cows, now can they?
Stay far away from this total BS game....many are leaving, they just merged like 12 servers into 1 (another nightmare, as now every language on earth is in one chat window).
**** YOU BSGO. You've seen the last dollar or minute from me.
Whatever you do, don't play this game, unless your rich. This game is made by Big Point, which means "pay to win". Whoever drops the most money on the game will dominate the game. Actually the entire game is designed around the pay to win model. That aside, it gets repetitive and monotonous rather quickly. There is really not a ton of skill involved in the pvp, whoever put more money into their ship and buys the bigger bullets, wins 9/10 times. Do yourself a favor and pass on this, wait for Star Citizen to come out in 2015.
