CrimeCraft is a long running favorite of mine. Community is medium in size, but incredibly dedicated and active. The forums are hit-or-miss, but highly active. I love the new GangWars expansion: territory wars are my favorite.
I've dabbled in and out of CrimeCraft over the last couple years. I was initially impressed with the unique fusion of shooter and RPG elements. I'm also impressed with the way the game has evolved over the years - the developers really seem to take player feedback into heavy consideration with each new update. I believe this game will appeal mostly to gamers with a background in shooting games, but as a gamer with a background more centered on RPGs, I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of the RPG elements in this game. The character development is decently robust, and the economy is driven by players' crafting - however the option is still there for simplicity for those who want to focus simply on the shooter aspect of the game. This latest expansion has really improved the gang aspect of the game, making it more important than ever to join ranks with one of the many gangs in the game.
Gang Wars definitely brings a whole new competitive edge to CrimeCraft's PvP. In Gang Wars, your gang (guild/clan), fights in Gang Wars to 'own' territories and cities within the game itself. With each owned area, the Gang receives incentives including in-game cash! Definite improvements from Bleed Out!
It's a very fast paced shooter,I came to the original Crime Craft from a friend telling me about it. I played about 3 months before this expansion, it's a good addicting game. But if you're new, you will most likely have to deal with professionals, hacker, and nooby players. I mean, I'm a level 36, a semi-pro but when I started a new character, a large number of professionals also started a new character. And it seems a lot harder. That's probably the ONLY con about this game. Their are pre-set classes, make your own build, crafting and nice people. But don't take my opinion for, it's a free-to-play game so, give it a try.
I started playing CrimeCraft just a little before the Gang Wars expansion/patch. I miss the introductory quest but now you have a fast paced shooter style game that lets you start playing with the basic tools you need. I have found the wait too get into a match to be very short and the games constantly keep you on your toes. You get too chose a pre-made class you will play; each with their own strength and weakness that level up as you play. Gang Wars lives up too its title. Your gang is fighting to protect and control your territory; the map. There are benefits too owning/controlling a map and the mechanic work well. But there is no history for your character or gang. To get too the old lobby you must level first through combat. I think the game made a mistake removing the quest lines. At least make them optional. It is worth a play if you like FPS with no wait time for action.
Gang **** expansion that killed Crimecraft. Gang Wars introduced several new features into Crimecraft. All which were appealing and in themselves not bad ideas. However this expansion really destroyed what Crimecraft was MADE TO BE. It drastically changed Crimecraft from a unique, individual game to your typical cookie cutter online shooter.
There's only the multiplayer, so I'll review only it: the game seems to be very bad programmed. I wasn't able to play the game, because there are many bugs that MAKE IT STUCK ON THE SCREEN "Press any key to continue". This is ridiculous. Also, the matchmaking is made very badly, and you can't choose your servers, but it will look for them. The graphics/performance are the only good thing of this game (I could see them only via the menu, since I couldn't play), but, since it would "high" the score to max. 0.5, I still have to give it 0 and not 1. Also, there's the shop, as many F2P. Avoid it.
