Everything we loved about old RPGs in a complete, modern package. It's hard, it's well thought out, there's tons of options and most importantly, tons of fun. [Issue#244]
It's a conscious decision on Larian's part to resurrect tried-and-true threads that run deep into the bones of the CRPG genre. It's a culmination of those efforts and an unapologetic celebration of battle-tested concepts backed by solid co-op. Most of all, it comes together as a grand adventure that hearkens back to sleepless nights buoyed by the roll of a die and a pad of grid paper shared between fellow dungeon crawlers.
After playing the game for the first time, I played as if I was possessed by something for two hours
I ended up with 140 hours of play time and watching the ending
It was my first time doing this genre and it was shocking
An exceptional RPG which is not afraid to stand toe to toe with the great names of the past. It's hard to find flaws in it, with the exception of a slow start and the absence of an Italian translation.
Certainly, I have no hesitation in recommending Original Sin to RPG fans old and new, provided that you're up for a challenge from very early on and don't expect to romp through, Diablo-style.
It’s familiar enough that you can easily pick up its basics, while being original enough to require you to pay close attention to learn its idiosyncrasies.
Divinity: Original Sin could be more straightforward and more modern in other aspects and perhaps maintain its allure. After 60 hours of deep, challenging and often confounding role-playing action, I'm willing to forgive its sins, original or otherwise.
6/10 + 1 because of the perfectly executed couch coop.
Short: The game with great combat system, but generic setting and the plot that you don't really care about. I loved levelling up, and hated music and visual style.
Longer: What "Divinity: Original Sin" does very well is the combat system. Levelling up is slow and you rarely gain any new skill - and this was a great decision. After a while you perfectly understand every action you may take, its pros and cons. I played the whole game with my wife in a couch coop way and it was a great way to experience this game.
However, I was expecting more from an RPG when it comes to plot and atmosphere. When playing it, I felt like I was playing a hack&slash game with turn-based combat. The atmosphere is dull, generic and the dialogs are poorly written. We either skipped through them or was bored by them. The silly tone both in visuals and in dialogues was more annoying than entertaining.
We also hated the music that was so much anti-climatic. Especially that you have to listen to it over and over again during many many fights.
The quests were designed in clever way, presenting many ways of solving them, using the game elemental interactions. But beware the riddles. I usually love riddles in the games, but most of them in this game, are based on finding a correct object that you don't know that you are looking for.
Overall, it is a good game, but based on reviews I was expecting more. I was constantly comparing it to Pillars of Eternity, which I liked much more. If you want a good gameplay mechanics I encourage you to play "Divinity: Original Sin". But if you are looking for a good RPG, keep away from it.
Вся игра это какое то одно большое превозмогание. Боевка просто отвратительная, меня постоянно не покидало чувство, что я играю отрядом инвалидов, которые имеют много умений, но они нихуя не юзабельны. Система сохранений - сохраняет когда ей вздумается. Баланс классов просто отсутствует - вор и лучник бесполезны чуть больше чем полностью. Ахуеть, вместо того, что бы получать радость от игры у меня постоянно было чувство страдания. Походу целью разработчиков была проверка игроков на прочность. Система таргетинга откровенно хуевая - время от времени то и дело, что получаются миссклики. Вместо того что бы ударить - персонаж начинает пиздовать кудато, что невыносимо выводит из себя. Враги постоянно имеют преимущество над персонажами. Взять для примера вражеских лучников - они стреляют чаще и точнее чем персонаж лучник. Я хз за что игре выставили такие большие оценки.
Юмор присудствует это правда, сюжет вроде как не плохой, графика сойдет.
Но геймплей это пиздец. Контактниками играть невозможно, постоянно поджоги, подскальзывания, отравление, хоть бери да просто круги нарезай вокруг врагов, ожидая того как маг и лучник через 9000 ходов одолеют врагов. После того как я проиграл один из боев и попытался загрузится, оказалось, что последнее автосохранение было хер знает когда и совсем в другой локации. Я просто не выдержал, нажал alt+F4 и удалил игру к хуям от греха подальше.
It's a pretty game, with fun story. The only reason in the end, I found it's good, is that it's voice acted. The AI is broken, making the game easy. The loot system almost seems discouraging and tedious. The lewd mini stories are also questionable. Overall I have it a 4, due to the AI breaking and lewdness. If you can look past, a tedious loot system, a broken AI in the late game and the sexual lewdness then, you maybe think better of it that I.
