Too many role-playing games are let down by average or mediocre combat – Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen isn’t one of them. Unfortunately, role-playing games also demand great stories, and if you’re looking for a stronger main storyline, Dragon Dogma’s might not be up to your standards. Despite this, the hundreds of hours of content on offer, immense replayability and party customisation is amazing and PC owners can finally enjoy Capcom’s RPG gem with all the added visual bells-and-whistles options.
Damn, there is so much to be said about this game... Its absolutely fenomenal ! I love everything about it, it really has something in it that keeps me from leaving it alone.
Great Game, played since I was young. The combat is unlike the system of any game I have ever played and is always fun and exciting.Felt satisfied after playing for a while with how powerful my Arisen had become - from being completely at the mercy of a chimera to slaying a drake in under ten minutes in the post game. This game is truly a masterpiece, and a game all ARPG fans must play. The story - despite being confusing - is solid and understandable if you do a few plot - based side quests. All in all, great game.
Dragon's Dogma on PC takes away a few graphical frustrations we had on the console. The improvements the game got in Dark Arisen are still in there, which makes this one of the best and one of the most difficult niche RPG's on the market.
The gameplay is a healthy challenge. It’s good value for money. All in all it’s such a charming and engaging piece of work that as soon as I’ve wrapped this review up I’ll be straight back on it. So farewell.
Dragon's Dogma still holds up as a solid game in 2016. Capcom fixed many of the technical errors and glitches of the 2012 console release with patches, allowing a reliable framerate to go with your experience. The included difficulty modes raise the stakes of the challenge.
Overall, if you can get over the “janky”-ness of the visuals, then you
will definitely find an engrossing action RPG with some great systems.
The story is a bit bland, but can be made up for with strong combat,
excellent controls, an interesting class system, and a wide variety of
interesting enemies.
So Dragon's Dogma has worthwhile elements even if it feels dated, and even if I very nearly quit just before hitting the all-important twist that actually made the story worthwhile.
Dragon's Dogma was a game that I wish I had given a chance sooner. The problems that I have with the game are all things that I've grown used to not having to deal with. While I don't want to be too hard on the game the main problems I have are the fast travel system & the confusing post game. While these are problems now the overall game experience was enjoyable and worth giving a chance.
7 Hours Playtime. im not gonna talk about bugs or performance issues, i get it, nowadays Games tend to be like that, the industry is freaking over Devs and coders and they dont have the energy and frankly the Ability to make Games like 10-15 Years ago. when you couldnt make updates, you installed it from a CD/DVD and **** wasnt in a 99% Playable State your game was considered a failure and Your Stocks and your Prestige was impacted. I'm frustrated by something else. This game feels Soulless. too many random Vassals are running past you but no actual NPC's. The Mobs and their spawn method is coded without logic. For ex.: if i just cleared a corner and walk by there in the night, in no way or form can there be a whole new Goblin encampment with chilling Mobs. if you kill any living being at a certain point, next gen of the same beings seeing that will not make their camp there."Hey , here is danger, lemme put a tend on dat ass, my dearest Dead Uncle"The Villagers feel forced, i cant reall describe it, but even 10-15 year old Skyrim feels more alive. people just look at you or do 1 pathetic task over and over again. The Ui is also weird. Make a point. a statement please. Either give every mission some kind of Marker that is seeable or get rid of the map, etc. Give me more natural movement. You either Sprint or Jog and occasionally your too fast for **** dont want to spam W 5-20 times just to go along an edge or to stand infront of an NPC.gimme crouchwalking, stealthing and normal ass walking. Dont tell me you intended the player to Jog/Run in the GAOL Quest (thanks for the proper old Language btw, its actually really nice) Inventory Management is non existent. Now something that may be an unpopular Opinion: LET ME CHANGE KEYS PLEASE FOR GODS SAKEYOU EVEN HAVE THE MENU FOR ITJeeeeesussss !(im a Muslim BTW. do you know how frustrated a muslim needs to be to scream JESUS FKN CHRIST IN DISCORD OUT LOUD) Your Ingame Pricing and Items being more time use vs Single time use is just bad. i love RPGs. BUT HECK, in this world id rather be a Innkeeper. mystical magical books: 200Ga sword: 850Ga night in the Inn (without extra services afaik) 2000G HUH?Also: IF I TELL THE GUARD THAT WANTS TO TAKE ME TO THE CAPITAL THAT I WILL SORT MY SKITTLES AND I TELL HIM I NEED TIME, DONT MAKE HIM TALK TO ME EVERY TIME why do you want to RUSH MY EXPERIENCE of YOUR GAME ?I started loving RPG games when i was just a wee little Lad in Germany, buying some PC Games Magazine that had Gothic by Piranha Bytes on a CD as an extra. Anybody that ever heard or played that game franchise (especially sequel Titles) knows the bugs, the Performance Issues yada yada yada. But the Game was fun. Early 2000 Game, both Gothic and especially Gothic 2 Feel more Alive. For me personally, i dont need moving grass and trees and high quality Graphics. i need want to Experience a Game with its mechanics. Lot of People sound like they had the most fun making a Character and thats just sad. The Game is still promising and could be /could have been really Good. But right now it feels half cocked. A friend of mine bought the Game for me and i told him to refund it, because i value and respect his time and energy too much to get this game from Him and not play **** it was more Finished and alive, the Price is actually good. if the game is gonna be updated (!and improved!) i will buy the Game again. id be down to pay more, which is most likely the only way this game can improve. Make a DLC with extra content and give it a complete Overhaul in that version. Thanks for reading and sorry for mistakes, for making lighthearted jokes and for any bad or agressive language. Tis comin' from the Heart.
SummaryA mysterious island known as Bitterblack Isle appears off the coast of Gransys. Its depths have claimed the lives of many Arisen; their voices still haunt the labyrinth that lies deep beneath its surface--a labyrinth ripe with secrets waiting to be discovered. The time to take up arms has come once again. Delve into the isle's depths and...
