Aug 15, 201185Fantastically fun and tight design.
-
Aug 29, 201180Dungeons of Dredmor makes you respect death, where many games simply laugh in its face.
-
Jul 25, 201170It isn't for everyone. But it is definitely a lot more user friendly than other examples of its genre, and, for the price, is potentially a good introduction to this sort of game.
-
Aug 9, 201180It's mean-spirited, dizzyingly deep, and snarkily nostalgic all at once - and those are just the skills and attributes I look for in a roguelike.
-
Jul 20, 201180Dungeons of Dredmor is a solid success in those terms, and easily exceeds expectations for its five-dollar price tag.
-
Jul 20, 201180I'm quite taken with this roguelike; it feels like a game that came out of nowhere and hits all of the dungeon-crawl buttons -- steep challenge, lots of loots, and a ton of monsters. Throw in its humor and soundtrack and you've got a roguelike that should appeal to anyone who likes a good dungeon-crawl.
-
Jan 15, 201250Dungeons of Dredmor is like a year-round tyre: it will do its job but no one is going to be enthusiastic about it. Masochists will find this game too soft, while common gamers will find no amusement at all.
-
Jul 22, 201191There is a truly massive amount of game here for the $5 asking price, and Gaslamp Games has clearly set Dredmor apart from the crowd. If you've ever felt the need to crawl a dungeon, this one is most definitely for you, as it serves as both an excellent "my first roguelike" and a challenging quest for the experienced spelunker.
-
Aug 4, 201170This game is arguably the best attempt made by an indie developer to bring the roguelike genre into the mainstream thus far.
-
Jul 28, 201185Dungeons of Dredmor's voluminous depths are littered with an abundance of wacky treasure to horde and enticing weaponry to cleaving all sorts of evil beasties in twain with.
-
Aug 1, 201180Dungeons of Dredmor is a good roguelike game that deserve a try, despite some interface flaws. It's easy to play, but hard to master.
-
Sep 13, 201182Well-formed and horribly addictive. [Nov 2011, p.75]
-
Oct 3, 201180You'll laugh, you'll die, and you'll come back for more. [Nov 2011, p.62]
-
Oct 19, 201188Gaslamp Games has produced a modern version of roguelike. Although the game is blessed with comical graphics instead of typography, the mechanics under the hood remain the same from the Nethack era. The game is really, really unfair, but at the same time it is strangely addictive. [Sept 2011]
-
Jan 3, 201272Dungeons of Dredmor isn't without problems, but the good humour and addictive gameplay make it an amiable purchase. It might not be to everyone's tastes, and the random generation can be frustrating, but for only a few dollars it's pretty easy to recommend.
-
May 9, 201270If you can accept some mechanical quirks in exchange for a torrent of indie exuberance, check it out.
-
Aug 21, 201188A fun game, especially for rogue-like veterans, who will get its dry British wit and genre in-jokes. The game is basically the next generation of the true rogue-like, much like Fatal Labyrinth was before it.
-
Aug 8, 201183There are also more than enough different monsters and items, as well as a clever sense of humor that manifests in unique stat names like "caddishness."
