  • Summary: Improved Match Engine - improved AI, over 100 new animations in 3D mode, new stadiums and crowds, improved pitch degradations and better lighting make for the most immersive pitch-side experience ever. Match Analysis - a match analysis tool that shows you where shots, passes, crosses, headers, tackles, fouls and interceptions have been made on the field for both teams. See this analysis both live in game, and post match, allowing you to pinpoint the weaknesses and strengths of both your team and your opponents. New User Interface - a completely new vibrant look and feel to the game, plus a navigational overhaul. The side menu is replaced by an intuitive tab system, based on extensive consumer feedback and usability studies, which allows you to access all areas of FM 2010 quickly and easily. Tactical Overhaul - a new tactics module makes it much easier to make your team play as you want them to. There are thousands of possible pre-set options and touchline "shout" instructions for making instant changes to your teams playing style. Don't worry; the old system is still there for people who love their sliders. News Center - a subscription based newspaper. Get the news about the football world around you that you want, and not the news you don't want. New Data Editor - including a brand new Competition Editor allowing you to add competitions and extra levels for leagues currently in the game, and add completely new competitions and leagues all via a very simple to use editor. Plus, the new editor allows you to keep your game up to date more easily than ever before. [Sega] Collapse

Football Manager 2010 like its forbearers will keep you entertained for hundreds of hours due to the wealth of options available and depth of its leagues.
  2. Still the king of sheepskin coat and monogrammed training kit. [Issue #27, p.52]
  3. Football Manager returns with further improvements. The new version allows us to maintain better control of our team during games, and also increase the quality of 3D visualization. FM 2010 goes deeper in the interaction with our players, media and the coaching staff, creating a great gaming experience with its fantastic artificial intelligence. Year after year, the series takes hold their place in the genre, adding new capabilities without sacrificing any of the features seen in previous versions. This sports title keeps on top of its genre, setting a benchmark for every football management simulator.
  4. I’m against developers who churn out yearly updates with little improvement (LMA Manager, Pro Evolution Soccer), but with Football Manager 2010, it almost feels like it justifies another investment.
  5. A good update and return to top form. [Winter 2009, p.71]
  6. While there may be no star signings in this year's Football Manager, there are enough incremental improvements to keep it at the top of the table.
  7. Football Manager 2010 evolves just a bit, but enough to retain its crown as the best manager on the market.

Fantastic game. It's the only one from the series where I've managed to last more than 2 seasons. I'm in the season 2016/2017 with Lazio at the moment and I am still loving it. Well done to the creators for making such a fantastic football management simulator. Expand

This game is great and really got my interest back into football manager. As 2009 came out I went and bought it on the day of release to be bitterly disappointed and it really did make me think twice about buying any future releases if they were gonna be similar. After installing this and playing 8 seasons so far with Leeds united i can well and truly say that this game is Brilliant!!! The changes they have made make the game so much more user friendly and all i can say is well done SI games.. My rating 10/10 Expand

For many years I have being playing the game series (since championship manager 97/98). I would say that whoever played the FM09 version will be a little disappointed with the 2010 edition. Just because the 3D engine... on FM10 I was expecting a much more better job on the game 3D engine. Looks more unrealistic than the 09 game. However the crowed it's a good improvement and addition on the "classic view" of the game. I would rated this game on the 8.7 mark. It deserves the credit for it! Good work guys!! Expand

There are those who say I shouldn't be reviewing this.. I don't like football and never have but one thing I can give you is an outsiders perspective.... I was handling all the stats trying to get things ready and then expecting to be able to watch a match and guide from the sides... what do I get? The kind of visuals expect from the old spectrum version of football manager. I am not enough of a nerdy statistician to find this even remotely interesting. I'd rather play brothel manager or cleanup manager. Expand
