  • Summary: Freedom is threatened yet again and only Minute Man and his heroic Freedom Force can save the day in the follow up to one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2002. Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich brings dynamic storytelling, fast-paced tactical role-play, and larger-than-life characters from the comic book pages to the computer screen. In this title, the league of heroes must travel back in time to defeat Blitzkrieg, defender of the Reich and his homicidal henchmen. With action spanning from the blasted battlefields of World War II to the dazzling depths of distant dimensions, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich will give Freedom Fans more than they can handle. 1. From involving story to eye-popping graphics, very funny script, incredible characters, great voice acting, ultra-smooth gameplay, and an unusual range of extended play options, FFVTR brings it all together better than any PC game I've played in the past year.
  2. The neatest thing about FFVTTR is that you truly interact with the environment – you can destroy buildings, and even pick up lampposts to swat opponents. This is a serious innovation and really makes the game stand out.
  3. A classic comic book come to life... With a great story, excellent controls, graphics and voiceovers you are certain to get your money's worth out of this game.
  4. I was hoping to be wowed again. For now, I will just wait to see what the mod community can do to entice me to keep this game on my hard drive.
  5. It isn't going to blow anyone's doors off, but it's a solid strategy/RPG with a lot of humor, a great presentation, and a lot of expandability in terms of user-created content. [Apr 2005, p.139]

It is a nostalgia trip, a salute to the Silver and Golden ages, and a wonderful piece of whimsy. It is at the same time humorous and heart-warming to see all these familiar and old concepts.
  7. Its additions are fine and I enjoyed the game overall, but too many elements are the same as its predecessor, giving the program the feel of a very-polished expansion pack.

This is one of the best games ever. Ten times better than the first.

I smell a winner. The superheroes are back in town and they're ready to fight. I have been waiting for the sequel to the best superhero game ever and it looks like the guys from Irrational have once again hit pay dirt. Evildoers beware, the Energy X men are back and ready for action. Expand

I want to say that it is a good game, but I had incessant gas pains during the install and couldn't finish the setup process. Oh, I also messed my pants. Collapse

I dont understand what is so great about freedom force. after finally figuring out how to use the game correctly, i realized i REALLY did not like the interface. im not really a fan of this kind of game, but superheroes especially dont interest me. besides that, the cartoony graphics are neat and the germans are pretty funny..but whats the deal with the roman italians? Loved the original. This...not even close. Lots of cool new powers, but the same villains over and over. How many times can you fight Fortissimo and Red Sun?
Everything that was cool about FF was overdone, yet flat, in the sequel.
Plus the storyline was just awful. The original was pure cheese, the kind that rocks, but this is pure limburger. There's a reason why no more sequels were made, as this game killed the franchise.
Cool new powers and more characters are not enough to carry a lame story (and the writing was awful), and uninteresting foes.

The characters irritated me so much I had to stop playing the game. I have played hundreds, possibly thousands of games in my life, and this is only the second time this has happened. (True Crime being the other one). Expand
