Jurassic has enough open-ended depth to appease "RollerCoaster Tycoon" players, fossil hunters, and anyone looking to bag some big game. [2 May 2003, p.79]
It’s a niche game that will only appeal to fans of this genre. If you enjoyed "Zoo Tycoon," you are sure to like JPOR. All others who are interested should rent first.
Esse jogo marcou minha infância, por suas músicas memoráveis e, sua variedade de itens para construir seu próprio parque é algo impressionante para a época que foi lançado. Queria que ele fosse lançado na retrocompatibilidade do Xbox no Xbox One.
Yup, I've still got my disc copy of the game! It's not exactly Rollercoaster Tycoon good, but it's a great game nonetheless. The gameplay is easy to get the hang of and yet still has plenty of variety and depth to it; you have no real restrictions on what you do, but in a badly designed park, any small disturbance can make all hell break loose.
If you can still find this game, go for it! It holds up remarkably well for such an old game and the Xbox version is a lot more solid than people make it out to be, but be warned that the Xbox/PC versions are collectors' items and can go for upwards of $100. If you don't have a PlayStation 2, it's probably not worth the asking price for a remaining copy, and you're better off hoping that some day we can see a digital release.
While I don’t have any huge complaints overall with Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, it just seems to be missing something and at times the action is slow and tedious.
To enjoy this game properly you are going to need a keyboard and a mouse -- two things that are readily available on the PC -- so you might as well plan on going for that version instead.
The game part of the game has you snapping pictures and keeping stray dinos under control, which couldn't be a more miscalcualted idea in modern game design. [Apr 2003, p.62]
ive never played games like sim city or any other sim game like it so this is my first. i have to say i had alot of fun with this game . making my own jurasic park and just building it up and some times going evil and releasing all the dinosaurs on the unexpecting visitors lol and waching them run in terror. visitirs whining about not seeing the dinosaurs well enough ... well how about the inside of a t Rex's mouth... that good enough for you LOL.
Surprisingly enjoyable; I spent so much time playing this game as a child. It is just so open-ended and beautiful in so many ways, from the dinosaurs themselves to the landscape and disasters; there is just so much detail in the game.
This is a very fun sim and was very enjoyable throughout. The game slightly controls the pace allowing an enjoyable learn and sim but does ramp up the chaos at times to keep you honest and challenged. The best part of the game is the sheer control you have in your park. It's quite impressive for a game made so long ago. The dinosaurs each have their own instincts and when you mix predators with herbivores it doesn't always play out as one would expect and this is the aspect of the game I enjoyed the most. A lot of forethought went into this game that much is obvious. In addition I never game across any glitches or software bugs. My only issue with the game is once you have made your 5 star theme park there is nothing really left to do other than maintenance and limited experimentation on how to let it fall apart so you can rebuild it. Despite really enjoying the game I essentially beat it and have nothing really left to look forward to. There are other m,modes but once you've made your park 5 star I presume the other modes are going to be terribly boring. None the less I really did enjoy the game. It was neither overwhelming or too simple. I usually give must play games an 8 rating or more but because I don't really feel there is much meaningful replay ability of this game I gave it a seven noting that it is about 7.95/10 lol I played this in 2020 so even being outdated it's still holds up today in my opinion. I think so many sims now are so detailed with so many options they are actually too much work to enjoy, this one fit my boots well and the dinosaur theme was fantastic enough for me.
