  • Summary: In an enchanted world of mystery, beauty and boundless imagination, begins the epic quest of Lydia, a young girl embarking on a journey of enlightenment that takes her to the gates of Dragonvale Academy where she will become a new apprentice. Upon her arrival, something is terribly amiss. The campus is deserted and even Celeste, Lydia's best friend who is a scholar at the Academy, is no where to be found! While exploring, Lydia stumbles across a most disturbing object... a doll she gave Celeste as a keepsake. It is now clear to Lydia that treachery and sorrow lurks in the halls of the Academy. Accompanied by a charmed dragon named Zak, Lydia must quickly overcome trials in The Chamber of Passage, understand the secrets of the runes and glyphs, and master the forces of magic to uncover the mystery behind Celeste's disappearance, Dragonvale Academy and the beloved keepsake. 1. It has a couple of problems here and there (like odd echoes to the dialogue), but it sports a couple dozen intriguing puzzles, it’s well made, and it’s well acted.
  2. A fantasy-filled adventure with an extraordinarily magical atmosphere. The puzzles are great, the interface is simple but good, and the school of magic is terrific. Although there is too much running back-and-forth, Keepsake is an adventure worth playing. [May 2006]

The second half of the game really drags it down. The puzzles in the upper levels are more often than not just frustrating or make absolutely no sense. The portal travel gets ridiculous at points.
  4. Keepsake isn't simply forgettable—it's just plain bad, trampling on sacred narrative ground with insipid characters, putrid voice acting, and brain-dead storytelling.

Beautiful graphics and music, excellent puzzles (and hint system), engaging storyline and the voice acting (NA version) is just fine, in spite of what you may have read to the contrary. A thumbs up and a hearty recommendation to all lovers of the Adventure game genre. Expand

Wonderful, beautiful, very beautiful. The music is lovely, the story is adorable. Now that's what I call a school of magic! This is the type of game that you never want to end. You just want it to go on and on. Expand

Not a hidden gem, more like hidden silver piece but I'm still glad that I found it. Atmosphere was great however the hint system was a bit too tempting but you gonna need it eventually. Expand

I give it a 3 because the puzzles weren't bad and the graphics and sound were passable. This game fails in every other way. The story, voice acting, pacing, gameplay, characterization and the presence of bugs are all disappointing. Comparisons to The Longest Journey can't be serious. (I haven't tried Syberia.) I might recommend this game to a 9 year old or a senior citizen who is unfamiliar with computers, but even then I'd have my doubts. Collapse
