  • Summary: It’s a co-op survival horror game. Up to 6 players in online co-op mode, or just you, on your own, playing the Solo mode. The aim - cleanse each area of zombies, in waves, until you get to the last one. The Big One. The Patriarch. Then exterminate him, too. Actually, they aren’t "zombies". T". They are the left-over "specimens" from a cheap and dirty government program to clone soldier-monsters. The basic ones will just munch on your arm and try to disembowel you. The bigger ones were the first ones they tried arming. Nothing much. Just a chainsaw or a blade for starters. They had just got on to the chain gun and rockets when the government tried to secretly shut down their secret program. But, in the typical way these things go, the program didn’t want to be shut down. The specimens got loose. No-one was left alive to turn off the specimen-cloning equipment. And now they are running amok. Well, some of them are running amok. Others are shambling amok or even jumping amok, but you get the idea. The police were sent in, but that wasn't even a challenge for the specimens. The first army units hadn't been warned what to expect. The screams of its got a bloody chainsaw!" over the radios probably didn’t do much for morale, as whole units were chewed up. Quite literally, in some cases, of course. And now, there is just you. And a few friends. The few survivors from the first police and army units thrown in. Of course, you can’t tell anyone anything, because that would be a breach of the Official Secrets Act 1911, 1920, 1989. And that would be a disciplinary offense. So just get in there and do your bit for Queen and Country. Zombies. Lots of them. Big ones, little ones. Armed and Dangerous. JUST MAKE THEM ALL GO AWAY! [Tripwire] Collapse

  1. If you've enjoyed zombie games of the past and want to see a different take on what cooperative zombie horror games should be like, then I think you will enjoy Killing Floor too.
  2. For the price, fun and challenging enough. Except for Patriarch. [July 2009]
  3. Once a mod now a game on its own, Killing Floor confronts the player with hordes of undead minions threatening his character’s life. While being independent enough of zombie-shooter-king Left 4 Dead with features like sealing doors, character perks and weapon stores, the game itself offers little variety and a flawed AI.
  4. Even talented designers couldn’t have saved Killing Floor. The game is so low-budget that it evokes pity instead of nostalgia. The visuals aren’t bad for an Unreal Engine 2 game, but they are a far cry from modern shooters. Threepenny lighting and jerky animation are the worst horrors you’ll see here.

This game is really addicting, fast-paced, and requires the best teamwork to pass and conquer the waves coming at you. It has only one mode and purpose, but many will be surprised how many hours will be spent just killing every thing in sight. If someone doesn't enjoy this game I feel sorry for them. Even if it's a knock-off from Unreal Tour. Killing Floor brings the zombie killing coop I've been aching to have. Also with upgradeable perks and destructive weapons of all sorts, the slaughter of undead specimens will bring you back wanting to play again. 20 dollars for this is a bargain and shouldn't be passed up with an fun game like this. Definitely a must buy. Expand
  2. Killing Floor's title as an indie game really shows, the bland but hilarious voice acting (which I must add, every survivor except the trader share the same voice actor), and the somewhat outdated graphics (not that they're horrible, they're just not amazing), but that doesn't make Killing Floor a bad game. Although the single player gets repetitive very fast, if you gather a few friends and play on a public server, it's loads of fun and I have a blast playing it.
Basically you choose a 3D model as one of your characters, and you get to choose a perk you specialize in. These perks give you special abilities, like a discount on a certain weapon related to the perk, or an ammo increase, better accuracy, etc.
Then you have to fight waves of little mutated creatures with their own unique abilities.
At the end of the round (which can last up to 15 waves) there is a boss fight.
Almost all the maps are open world (except for a select few which usually take place in a city or something) and if you get tired of the maps Tripwire gives you, there are custom maps you can download.
For a mere 20 dollars, this game is awesome fun, and if you have any friends that play it, it'll sure last a while.

  3. Reading a lot of reviews written by people who didn't like the game, I can honestly say that they played it completely wrong. It seems like they are missing a key element that makes this game fun and more than worth whatever they payed: friends. This is a coop game in every sense of the word. Yes, you can go ahead and play it alone, but, like these other people, you will not enjoy it all that much. This game shines in every respect when you're playing with friends or even just one friend. The game itself is also really great; it's satisfying to pop the heads of zombies and there is a wide selection of guns from the trader that you'd be hard pressed to not be able to find a gun that suits you. People are complaining about the graphics... Why? This is in no way a bad looking game. It's not a great looking one either, but the graphics is in no way shape or form deserving of criticism. This is a very underrated game and it's ton of fun to defeat waves after waves of zombies with your friends. It's extremely challenging, but, of course, there are different difficulty levels. This game is GREAT. Expand

Not a bad game, occasionally fun to play, but not so good as certain say. Graphics are low quality, which would not have been a problem if it had been better optimized. I was obliged to min almost all the specs to have an acceptable framerate (which is odd for a game using such an old engine). The enemy AI is really crappy, so there is no real tactic in this game, they only spawn and walk ridiculously to you. Also I really don't like the perk system, which seems to me a cheap way to increase replay value. So, fun to relax killing zombies from time to time, but nowhere as good as L4D (sorry to put this comparison once more). Another thing: I thought that the levels where open at first, but they are much smaller than I thought, you quickly know all the Map, and they don't seem to be huge. Turning around farms outrunning zombies, occasionally killing one or two who arrived near you, is quickly getting old. Expand
