  • Summary: NCsoft brings a whole new experience to the fantasy role playing game genre with Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle. This all-new game, developed and published by NCsoft, is a prequel to their blockbuster hit, Lineage. Set 150 years before Lineage, as the kingdom of Aden becomes a unified state, Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle is designed to show the struggles that take place during a time where several provinces come under one rule. Old loyalties must change, new structure must be established and national sovereignty and pride must be formed. However, a group of lands coming under single rule doesn't equate to immediate peace... In this world, many players fight for control over any and every piece of the new kingdom. [NCsoft] Expand

  1. Lineage II will be as revolutionary as "EverQuest" was for its time, and we are looking at the benchmark that all other MMORPGs (retail and free) will have to hold a candle against.
  2. If Lineage II has one main problem, it is that it is a treadmill supported by an economic system that is inane.
  3. One part that really sparkles however is the graphics; the Lineage world is one with a stunning backdrop, large, sparkling cities will surely take your breath away.
  4. Pros for Lineage 2 include the good graphics, castle sieges and the sound. Cons include the interface, the blatant lack of interesting quests (especially for low level characters/delivery boys) and the soul sucking experience grind.
  5. Depending on how you look at it, Lineage II offers either a repetitive grind or a stiff challenge. In any case, the game isn't suited for more casual players who may only have time to play for 30 minutes to an hour.
  6. The monotonous gameplay, unrealistic economy and slow leveling keep it from ultimately adding much to this ever-crowding genre.
  7. This one is only for those who need clan-based pvp warfare very, very badly, as they will have to go through twenty levels of the most monotonous gameplay ever experienced.

A great mmo. Amazing graphics and a lot of challenges. One of the best mmo that I have played. The community is great and the pvp system gives some emotion to the game while you explore the environment. Expand

I will talk about a version, I will talk about "The Chaotic Chronicle" and not about Lineage 2. The graphism is quite foggy, not rich, but it gives a quick gameplay tough, I won't give 10 because there are better versions line Freya, and let's say that Playing "The Chaotic Chronicle" is the same as playing "Freya" in low graphics. It was where I started this GamerExperience, back in 2004 it was perfect, the missing 1 in my 9 is the time that made it "Old", but not bad. Expand

Probably can provide a nice PvP experience, but Lineage II is based off a single thing: click on the same monster a bunch of times, until you level up. It is a real waste of time, and a disappointement for NCSOFT. Expand

There are tons of excellent games to try, a thousand time betters than this crap to waste your time, is a plain MMORPG that takes too long in the repeated formula of "kill things to get equipment, the kill tougher things" and access good content, doesn't worth the risk. Expand

Bots, bots, game crash, bots, bots, bots, game crash, bots, bots, more bots, game crash.

That about sums up Lineage 2. What utter garbage
this game is. The game is so full of bots that even the starting newbie zones are jam packed with them. I could not complete the very first few quests because they required me to kill X number of mobs. There were none to kill as all the bots were running around spawn killing them. Also the game crashes. I mean it crashes a LOT. I'm not sure if the developers just gave up on stopping all the botting going on, but it's EVERYWHERE in the game. No joke or exaggeration, they really are in almost every spot in the game where mobs spawn. My recommendation: Don't Play This Game. Let It Die. Expand

I did waste a couple of years on this game until I discovered just about any other mmo is a better choice.

    Nothing uniqe about this mmo
except for the fact you can spend thousands of hours doing repeatative grinding and still wonder if you will ever reach the end game content.

Unless you cheat and buy gold and pay some one to level up your toon. The pvp system breacks down to who has cheated longer. You hit your 2 maybe 3 big hitting skills first followed by your 1 spam skill and wait for your big hitters to cool down. If you have spent more real world money to buy a bigger stick or spend an infinate time playing the game you win. Win or lose you feel no sence of skill involved. As limited as your skills are at the start little change as you level up because they give the same amount of new skills and old skills become worthless.

The large class system is really a few simualr class's with a little changes.

The luring raid boss and castle seiges in the vidoes would make the game seem epic but skill less pvp ruins the seiges. The raids take a long time to gather a party of 10 to 100 payers depending on the raid who all must be around the same level and its pain to get 3 people to form a party to do regualr boring grind.
