  • Summary: Majestic Nights is an episodic role-playing-thriller set in an alternate 1980s where all conspiracy theories, past and present, are True.

Even though a glimmer of an intriguing concept lies at its design core and I don't doubt that the lads at Epiphany Games have the finest of intentions, this is neither The Secret World, nor Hotline Miami. The stealth and combat are simply atrocious when attempted with PC controls, and a host of bugs will often break the more interesting parts of the game. The excellent soundtrack and the sheer manic glee with which the developers tried to include every conspiracy theory ever pondered in two and a half hours of gameplay is admirable but Majestic Nights has a long way to go before it can even be considered for cult stardom.

Majestic Nights is a classic case of a game promising far more than it can deliver.

Frustrating mechanics, bad interface, and an unbelievably bland, confusing, and uninteresting story make for a bad combination. There’s so much wrong here that I hardly even have time to mention things like the terrible mini-games and wild inconsistency of one-hit stealth killing.

If you like conspiracies, point and click adventure games, RPGS. I think they need to work on their AI but they probably will. Overall I give this game a 10 because they have a unique game.

The game play is real time action using key board and mouse or controller. Its quite simple it seems, but I think the story is meant to be the main pillar of the game.

The sound track is original, I think its 80's but doesn't have any actual tracks from the 80's.

The art has its own style and most of it is pretty nice. There were some animation issues but they got fixed in a patch, so if you get the game patch it.

The price is pretty cheap $5 per Episode. I haven't got the season pass Ill probably wait for Episode 2 or 3 but they say they will provide extras.

    Interesting concept.

But the game is buggy and incomplete. It's a port for an Android app game that you can buy on PC. And a poor one at that!

Models some times float with bodies half way through floors. Developer claims this was an issue they were aware of but for some reason did not double check to if problem was fully fixed.

Combat and stealth that make Asteroids and Pac Man look like the Venus de Milo.

Dialogue is a mess of random conspiracy stories that are referenced with no real constructive story attached.

Graphics look good. Music sounds good. Maybe its worth buying the soundtrack and skipping the game.

Perhaps the makers should consider making music for right now instead of porting Android Apps to Steam.
