Cute indie arcade game with wasted potential is inspired by DOS legend Tunnerer but couldn't reach its addictive playability. [Oct 2012]

It's frustrating, because I can see how much more fun this could be with the ability to play against more human players, and until there is I can't recommend Miner Wars Arena. There's the inkling of a good game in here, but you shouldn't have to pay $10 to go digging for it.

As with Miner Wars 2081 there are many issues with the game, some serious enough that some people are not able to play the game and these issues have never been fixed. That combined with the fact the developers censored people who tried to warn others that Miner Wars 2081 uses always online DRM (steam version no longer has the DRM however non-steam versions still use it) by deleting comments on their YouTube videos and banning people on the Steam forums who spoke up against the DRM/censorship means I strongly urge people not to buy this game or anything else these developers release in future. I really like it. My friend told me about this and we played it in splitscreen like in old times when we was children. Try it out and you will see :))
