  1. Perimeter: Emperor’s Testament will take a little time to get used to, from the controls, terraforming landscapes, and creating a strong offence or defense. Once you do get the hang of all that this game has to offer you will find it highly enjoyable.
  2. It doesn't feature the same level of changes of most expansion packs, but the strategic elements are sound and the campaign is long enough to justify the paltry $20US price tag.

The concepts of energy management, unit morphing and land leveling definitely set Emperor's Testament apart from the rest of the RTS titles on the market. When you consider the twenty-dollar price tag, it's hard to pass this one up.
  4. Pelit (Finland)
Combines a far-out sci-fi plot with some new RTS elements. The result is a nice game, but nothing more. [Dec 2006, p.82]
  5. Emperor’s Testament needs more variety. Even the surprise plot twist in the game doesn’t enable Emperor’s Testament to break the formula.
  6. PC Gamer UK
Terraforming insanity imbued with a clunky wonder. [Dec 2006, p.97]
