  1. A mediocre game -- but in a good way. It’s got some problems that are patchable, but the pacing is good and there’s always a quest to go on.
  2. The graphical elements need some help and the dialogue is overwritten and overacted.

It's very cohesive without a trace of linearity.

The solo adventure is often captivating, however, and the ancient Chinese atmosphere often overshadows the fact that you're playing the same old action-oriented RPG one more time.

Combat is frustrating noce you get multiple party members, basically because they don't do what you want them to do.

Although the terrible voice acting, bad translations, and poor animations give Prince of Qin a rather unrefined feel, the numerous and interesting locations and quests and the thrill of raising levels are enough to make the game worth a look for role-playing fans.
  7. 68
Control of your characters could've been tighter, and the AI could've been a little more intelligent in battle situations.
  8. A decidedly awkward English translation, some lackluster production values, and a poorly implemented multiplayer mode all prevent it from having the same appeal as the games that influenced it.
  9. The mold is nothing but restrictive, choking off a good idea with subpar graphics and a general feel of incompleteness. This idea deserved better.
  10. An homage to "Diablo II" that fails to capture any of the magic that made that game so much fun.

A mediocre romp through a muddied story, with acceptable breaks for engaging combat. [Nov 2002, p.140]
  12. Sub-par graphics, poor animation, too much downtime in the action and meager music all detract from what could have been a welcome addition to any gamer's collection.

The game is set ancient china and the player will play as a cast out prince who tries to find out the conspiracies behind an empire. there are lots of side quests and lots of story line. Don't play unless you like to take your time because this game is lengthy. The game is played more like dungeon siege but overall experience is more like neverwinter nights since it does have strong characterization and quite a lot dialogue. Also you will find that there is no real structure in the game so you kind of wander around a bit. Personally, I like that it seems more realistic and more freedom. Story line pretty cheesy and reminds me of a dungeon siege 1, but cheese can be OK sometimes. Also I personally like its ancient China setting, another game from Bioware called Jade Empire has a similar setting but overall this game has more depth on role playing aspects. Full Review »

I played it online years ago and the stand alone mode is also fun. I would not compare it to modern games as far as depth goes but this is an overlooked and under rated classic! It will be in my collection for some time along with more popular games. It reminds me a bit of the Dungeon Siege series but predates them. Full Review »
