This game was tons of fun.
Renaissance Heroes is a first-person shooter/slasher set in post-Medieval Italy. It's a multiplayer game that requires you to attack and defeat the enemy in 5v5 combat. You have a melee weapon, two kinds of guns, and hand grenades. The arenas are compact with no place to hide. You are in constant motion. In some levels, you can shoot directly into the enemy base from your base creating some very interesting ranged battles.
In terms of pros, the graphics were great, the gameplay was smooth, the weapons were fun, and the whole thing was engaging and
In terms of cons, the tutorial was horrific and the menus can get a little complex and loud. The weapon system needs work.
Overall, one of the best games I've played this year. And, it's free. You should seriously consider this one.
This is free, and it ain't TF2. Don't go into this expecting a highly varied and sophisticated shooter. In-game currency, purchases, etc. can get annoying. But in the end, I still enjoy it. Rather than shoving it into a stereotypical steampunk setting, the game adds a new layer of the Renaissance era. On the surface, this may sound nonsensical, as steampunk is based off of the much later Victorian era. But somehow it works, and I loved the overall feel of the setting. Graphics look pretty good and run on my crappy PC. And, most importantly IMHO for a free FPS, it turns it fun, which is what really matters
The lack of characters, a good lore and the number of weapons available in the game combined with "upgrades" that aren't really upgrades because when you want to increase your range with 2 you will lose fire rate with +2 Somehow it feels like they didn't take the time to finish this game.
Simplified UT with a "Steampunk" style. Like most other F2P shooters, all the weapons are locked out with a stupid leveling system and have time limits. You can customize your weapons with crafting materials you find from daily rewards or randomly throughout a match but they give negligible benefits for huge amount of in-game currency. The biggest meta drawback is the way characters are handled; as if paying per weapon and paying real money for cosmetics that gives stat bonuses weren't bad enough, you have to pay for "character slots". Each character costs $9.80 and the one you pick when you first start the game (without any knowledge of how they will perform) you are stuck with.
How is the actual gameplay? Maps are too small, hitboxes can be modified by passives and meta buffs, and game modes are fresh from the 90s. The biggest gamebreaker is this stupid "Rage meter" buff that maxes out your HP, armor, move speed, damage, etc. for a severly losing player. Basically, the equivalent of a Blue Shell from Mario Kart and extremely broken in deathmatch mode.
You are better off just picking up UT with friends. Everything here is worse than other, more popular offerings and everything that had potential has been ruined by the Chinese touch.
Hello!? Is there anyone online? No?... This game is just bad... There isn't actually anyone to play with online, the guns are the most lazy I've ever seen in FPS design and the characters are plain ridiculous. If you chose one character, you've got to buy the other ones for a big price. Just leave this game be, it's not worth it. This game is broken.
I can't even load the game, it crashes and gives me errors.
What a big waste of time and downloads. the trailer looked nice.
The security system for it **** ass.
