  1. An essential, and long-lived, purchase. This is one shooter that you're going to want to savour.
  2. The single player campaign is visually interesting and enjoyable to play, but the multiplayer mode is where the game really shines.

You’ll be glad to know that the flamethrower isn’t the only great weapon at your disposal. The venom, which is a devastatingly powerful chain-gun, is one of the most amazing guns I’ve ever had the pleasure to handle in a video game.
  4. Well-polished and just plain fun to play. It also held, for me at least, a warm dose of nostalgia that left me feeling all gooey inside.
  5. An intense sequel that shines in both its solo and multiplayer modes.
  6. For all its technological wizardry, RtCW brings almost nothing new to the table gameplay-wise. [Mar 2002, p.74]

Best team based multi player game to date.

This is the Game that convinced me that a computer game could be real entertainment. Even in 2012 this game can still hold its own with far more advanced games... why? Story, Story, Story!!! This is the only game that has ever creeped me out, and to this day when I replay it (which I do often) I still get a shiver down my back (try playing the 3rd chapter of the game in a dark house with headphones late at night, and you will see what I mean). Unlike its sequel, RtCW is a very linear game with a little room to explore, and although most modern games have abandoned this approach, I think it can be the superior model simply because it lets the game tell a cohesive story. As for the multi player aspect... if you can still find a server that is hosting a game, you will have a hard time not to have fun. Yes the graphics are dated by today's standards... but although I may be biased, I simply dont notice them. I can count on one hand the number of games I have played all the way through more than once, but I can not count how many times I have played RtCW all the way through. Its an old friend that gives great joy. Pick it up cheep. Its more than worth it! Expand

I dont know why people just doesnt think about this game when they making games in wolfenstein universe? That in Machinegames want to make a new wolfenstein like a wolf3D, but RtCW was better and much more interesting. Some people talking this game has a great multyplayer ever. But where are you all now, all servers is empty! And why this people dont find SP part of game is gream? Strange people... Best wolfenstein ever maded! Expand

Great game. Prior to HL2 and Far Cry, this was the best around imho. Great shooter, no tricky puzzles to figure out, but a great fighting game.

A classic. Can't say much about the multiplayer as I haven't spent a lot of time on it, but the campaign was almost infinitely long by today's standards and kept the player entertained and wanting more throughout. I would even recommend it today to someone who wants to enjoy a thrilling long FPS story. Expand

Once you get past the fact it's a new fps and is hard at times... you realize it's really not that great. There's less of a "story" than there is a progression... you get to z point from y action. If you're new to FPS' the game will be difficult on any setting, but once you realize how to play (As in aiming) the only "deaths" that occur will be when the game is presenting an unfair situation. (Such as random spawns in areas you've already cleared) Let alone the games "idea" of a boss fight. Typically boss's really don't have a "weakness"... and simply hit consecuitly harder. Fortunatly the final boss, which would probally kill you in 4 hits, is a MELEE boss in an FPS game. The game has been overrated. Expand
