Savant - Ascent is one of the best short games I have played in my entire life. It is about the wizard Savant, who has been thrown out of his tower by a malicious orb. From then on, you are given control to the coolest wizard ever. While you can can only move to two specific spots, the main game mechanic is the shooting. The shooting is brilliant. You can either use Savant's power as a machine gun or as a shotgun thanks to the extra powerful boost you get when you start firing. The game is made up of 3 stages, with the final one being a boss fight that has two parts. Not only that, once completed (took me 15 minutes) there is also a "time attack" and "endless mode" that is unlocked. For $1.99, this is definitely worth picking up. The graphics themselves are really nice and suit the game very well, and the music is very fittingly done by the real world dubstep artist Savant. Overall, the game is a fun 2D shooter with a lot of personality and a little price.
Amazing Game! I've been an avid follower of Savant for a while, and this game just really takes it head on. Fast paced.
Cons: Control Options.
Controller Auto Detect Detects Logitech X360 Etc Game controllers attached and gives them use priority over keyboard mouse play with no option to switch between desired input other then disabling the device.
That being said, EPIC game, worth it, completely, you wont regret it.
Savant Ascent proofs that Norway are great at making games!!
Awesome Music, Beautiful Visuals and a challenging gameplay With an awesome story for 2 dollars is awesome. My Game Of The Year 2013 easily! You can't miss this game
Epic game-play for a very low price! It's challenging, fun and VERY fast! The music is also an plus! If you've got little money to spend, this is the game for you. It's on Android, IOS and Steam.
Epic game in an creative cooperation with Savant. Great fun for no money at all. Music and action is in a good symbiosis and completes an excelent combination. 5 weeks dev. Possible _YES, the D-Pad developers must be full of energy and talent. Recommended sincerely for those who like this kind of music. And if not, turn down the music and put on Beethovens 5th. Ehats next Owlboy Vikings on Trampolines Can't wait
This game is fun, but I don't think it's worth the 9.3 it's getting here.
It's cheap, yes, and the music is nice, but I finished the game in 15 minutes, making the game actually pretty expensive when you compare it to other games per hourly rate.
It's well made, but it's not worth being above all other games in this list.
This game looked pretty nice but it actually is quite bad.
It is only possible to jump between 2 points. You can never move anywhere else. The music is good in the beginning but gets boring pretty quickly. And in the beginning I thought it's a kind of music game, which reacts according to the music. But the music actually seems to play no role at all for the gameplay and therefore you wont even notice it too much.
It really hard and very unrewarding, because you can basically not move and only shoot with one shoot with almost never changes. You can't upgrade, you can't do anything.
It's frustrating and dumb. Maybe I don't get it, but I really tried to for some time.
SummaryA malicious orb has cast Savant out of his tower and transformed his surroundings into dangerous enemies! Dodge and shoot your way back up the tower, and blast down waves of enemies as you make your way towards the top! As you progress, you unlock CDs that not only give you new tracks to play to, but also grant you powerful new abilities...
