  • Summary: Star Wars Battlefront is an action/shooter game that gives fans and gamers the opportunity to re-live and participate in all of the classic Star Wars battles like never before. Players can select one of a number of different soldier types, jump into any vehicle, man any turret on the battlefront and conquer the galaxy planet-by-planet online with their friends or offline in a variety of single player modes. Single player modes include "Instant Action," "Galactic Conquest" and the story-based "Historical Campaigns" mode that lets gamers experience all of the epic Star Wars battles from Episodes I-VI, fighting from the perspective of each of the four factions within the game. 1. Unless you've got friends willing to pass as potential victims, it's about a day's worth of cheap thrills. But those seeking a suitable multiplayer scrap should find themselves in good shape with this one.
  2. The PC version is clearly the best, because it not only looks superior, it supports up to 32 players in a single battle.
  3. It should go without saying that the sights and sounds of Battlefront are top notch. The presentation, from menus to gameplay, is perfectly tailored to the identity of Star Wars.
  4. Oddly captivating in its mediocrity. If you're a Star Wars fan, you'll undoubtedly have a blast reliving the epic conflicts of the Star Wars universe, but at the same time you might find it a little too frustrating to enjoy and I could sympathize with that.

While it offers these amazing spectacles, thrilling battles, and remains a great account of what Star Wars battles must have felt like, there simply isn't enough content to keep the game going for months or years after its release.
  6. It offers that shallow kind of fun that plays on the novelty of the experience rather than anything else. The game is undeniably well-polished, but the longevity value is a bit questionable for anything other than hardcore Star Wars fans.
  7. While it is fun for a short while, once the novelty wears off its lack of polish really shows through. It completely lacks innovation, doing nothing at all different than what we've seen a 100 times over by now.

Everything That Made the Battlefield series a hit, but in the star wars universe! How Cool is that? Awesome game and lots of action duplicating every battle in Star wars. If there is any negative it would be that this game's gameplay is exactly like BF1942 and Vietnam... But if it aint Broke... Expand

It's a great game for star wars fabs or not good game play but bad single player, but why would you want to play alone in a game called battlefront anyway. Expand

Whether you like blasting Rebel troops from the cockpit of an AT-AT walker or gunning down Ewoks on the lovely forest moon of Endor, Star Wars Battlefront is the game for you. As many reviewers point out, Battlefront is essentially a Battlefield 1942 clone with a Star Wars makeover. However, Battlefield has essentially become a FPS footnote and Battlefront remains a veritable legend among both Star Wars fans and gamers as a whole. And for good reason. The maps are sprawling and capture the look and feel of the Star Wars universe extremely well. The units are varied and overall reasonably balanced (although I would recommend playing as the Empire and the Clones rather than the Rebels or Separatists). The flying mechanic is weak and the lack of playable hero characters may annoy some players but the sequel proved that concentrating on the non Force power wielding characters may have been a good move after all. Incidentally, the two best maps, Bespin and Hoth, are from the best Star Wars movie, Empire Strikes Back. Online multiplayer is another highlight of this great game and the split-screen multiplayer on the console ports is also a load of fun. If you're a fan of massive online shooters or Star Wars, this game is not to be missed. Expand

So the single player isn't groundbreaking...big whoop. If you want a fantastic multiplayer experience and are bored with Battlefield, then go for this. The difficulty no way poses any serious challenge but the patches available now rectify it. If you are a Star Wars fan and love Battlefield, this is THE game to get! Expand

Excellent game but a limited life span, control configuration can be a nightmare - did there really need to be soooo many controls??? surley Left, Right, Forward, Back and FIRE would have been sufficent?. However alll in all one of the best shoot em up's ive played. Expand

Terrible connection issues. Disgustingly animated characters. Laggy gameplay. Its like a 'my first FPS' Pretty graphics is the only positive comment I am able to make. Someone should lose their job over this one, but I fear the cash-cow will continue to be milked. Expand
