  1. With the inclusion of a Software Development Kit in the package, the door is also wide open for user modifications and new missions for the game, which should extend SWAT3's life for the foreseeable future. I couldn't recommend your acquisition of this game any more.
  2. Simply put, if you loved SWAT 3, this upgrade is a blessing. And if you resisted SWAT 3 because of its lack of multiplayer, you're out of excuses now.
  3. "SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle" changed the face of the first-person tactical genre, and the Elite Edition polishes it to a near mirror shine.

SWAT3's multiplayer, while nothing groundbreaking, is something special to behold.
  5. The addition of multiplayer really adds a whole other dimension to the gaming experience.
  6. A decent expansion pack that goes a long way towards redressing the failings of the original. However, that is not to say that the original should not have been a lot better than it was.
  7. Somehow, Sierra managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory by committing gaffes and other oversights that just boggle the mind.

Easily the best tactical shooter. With certain mods the game is absurdly fun. While the multiplayer is dead now (and has been for at least 10Easily the best tactical shooter. With certain mods the game is absurdly fun. While the multiplayer is dead now (and has been for at least 10 years), it is still brilliant. A few things in this title lift it above its successor Swat 4; glowsticks and modding tools, as well as slightly better AI. I wish that others were playing online, but that is not the case :( Tied with M&B Warband and LA Noire as (IMO) the best games of all time. Expand

Hmmm... while this certainly seems 'fresh' and 'original' at first, the originality of this game soon wears off. If you Hmmm... while this certainly seems 'fresh' and 'original' at first, the originality of this game soon wears off. If you are a fan of strategy fps's, then you should, at the very least, like this game. It's far too difficult for casual gamers though. Read the lowest review on here you can find, and base your purchase of this game on that- this is one of the few games I have bougt which I class as over-rated. Expand

I liked SWAT 3 because I found it easy to maneuver the men around in missions. Yet the mission design is flawed and comes off boring later I liked SWAT 3 because I found it easy to maneuver the men around in missions. Yet the mission design is flawed and comes off boring later on, if the game had sudden events in it that cause you to reconfigure your planning, I might've enjoyed this game more. It's good though nonetheless. Expand
