Very average, but possessed a HUGE potential to outrank even the GTA series. Problems: the graphics look crap, environments are sparse (for NYC! there's no peak-hour traffic or gridlock), some clipping issues, the swearing is beyond excessive, but the biggest kill-joy is the controls. The controls are dreadful... which makes hand-to-hand combat especially frustrating. But eventually Very average, but possessed a HUGE potential to outrank even the GTA series. BUT... with all the negatives out of the way, it is fun driving around NYC busting the balls of street gangsta's. The good cop/bad cop feature is especilly amusing. But the best feature is Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson from Law & Order SVU) and Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus) do major voices roles.... so you really can feel like a Cop cleaning up the streets. :D Fun, but dont expect a GTA-killer title. Good map and gameplay. Manhattan in the game is huge, all of it is in the game. It's so fun to just drive around and explore the map and look at how the real work buildings and areas look in the game compared to real life. The problem is that the story is short and gets finished in a few hours. The PC version is much worse looking graphically compared to the PS2 version (with the exceptionGood map and gameplay. Go look at some youtube videos of the 2 and you can see the difference. Controls are pretty bad on keyboard, too. Expand

On paper, it's got the potential to be more than a match for "San Andreas"; in practice, it's nowhere near it.

The PC port feels very sloppy overall, almost as if Aspyr simply got it working and then left it at that. If you're interested in this game, check out either of the console versions.
  3. If you’re a fan of the Sim City series, then give this a look. It’s a nice diversion for a few hours, but I really can’t advise spending a lot of money to buy it. You’ll be more than happy if you play for a week, so try renting it.
