I remember Vigilance fondly. It was a flawed, frustrating, but enjoyable spy-themed shooter. The action and storyline often made it feel almost like a 007 game, but with a very distinct feel.

The levels were often huge, but without being able to save during a mission that was both a good and bad thing. It made for some fun and heart-pounding moments, but it sure was frustrating to get most of the way through a mission only to make a dumb mistake and die, requiring you to start over from the beginning of the mission.

Parts of the game were easy, parts were very challenging. The levels were mostly static, but interesting in their architecture and the level design was not bad.

Being able to choose between a large number of agents to play as, with different play-styles and perks for each, was a nice bonus.

All-in-all, I would say a flawed, frustrating, and overall enjoyable game that slipped under the radar as many gamers focused on the big-name titles of the time.
