  1. The fast-paced and intense offense showcases the style of play found in the AFL. Gamers wanting a deep and extensive football experience will be disappointed.
  2. There is no denying that Arena Football: Road To Glory has a bit more to offer than last year’s debut – but not enough really to warrant a second purchase for owners of the first game.
  3. Here is your standard case of lost opportunity. If only Arena Football: Road to Glory were a lot more fleshed-out in the options and game modes it would take its seat among EA’s roster of elite sports games.
  4. Between the receivers’ lack of ball awareness and the game’s horrendous slowdown – which interferes with just about every play – this title is anything but high octane.

Road to Glory is more like a Path to Repetition.

The strategy is simple: run plays like Yo-Yo Post fade, score, repeat endlessly, rack up 100+ points, and win. [May 2007, p.83]
  7. Arena Football's Road to Glory has been paved with little more than a roster update and a few unappealing upgrades.
  8. An uninspired effort that does little to satiate football fans’ jones for a gridiron fix this winter. The combination of its eerie similarity to last year’s game with some framerate issues should dissuade all but the most dedicated Arenophiles from investing the $30 for this PS2 exclusive.
  9. 60
It's an improvement over last year's effort, but it still remains a strictly niche product.
  10. It would be a shame if the decision on whether to continue with the franchise into the next-gen were based on the improvements from last year's product to this.
  11. EA seems to have all the right ideas for this fast-paced football title, but squandered it on sloppy execution and bare-boned gameplay modes.
  12. Road to Glory comes across more as an obligation to a contractual agreement than a worthwhile video game.
