  1. If you've seen one Armored Core title, you've seen them all. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. This is easily the best of the bunch.
  2. In spite of a few omissions, Another Age is near exactly the expansion that gamers were looking for.
  3. You still can't find a more engrossing, bot-builder. The level of customization has yet to be matched, making AC2:AA one of the most replayable games in your library.
  4. A dizzying variety of new and classic armaments and parts, allowing for unprecedented amounts of Armored Core customization.
  5. So what’s not to like? Really nothing, but neither is there really anything that stunned me. This is good, solid, ‘Mech gaming, yet nothing more.
  6. While many may be frightened off due to the depth and complexity, others (especially fans of "AC 2") will joyfully sink their teeth into this one.
  7. What you need is patience, thorough reading skills (to get through the manual), and a real appetite for destruction.
  8. Palpably incomplete…[yet] the deepest mech game yet made for a console. [Nov 2001, p.100]

It is in essence the same game, just with new core parts and a massive selection of new missions.
  10. We just find this new instalment (if not version) of the same game (oh-so) slightly better for reasons we can’t truly explain. It just is. Slightly.
  11. Only slightly different, Another Age fails in the fact that it is nearly a cookie-cutter copy of the original game. If the original was excellent to begin with, why not play it again?
  12. A massive improvement over the decent shooting/evading/customizing/dashing action from its predecessor. No mech fanatic would be sane without checking it out.

Don’t enter Another Age expecting a full-fledged sequel to Agetec’s giant-robot fighting franchise. This AC2 expansion pack adds about 100 missions and new multiplayer options…but not a whole lot more.
  14. This build-your-own-robot game gives grease monkeys a 20-story garage, hundreds of parts, and plenty of time to tinker with and create the ultimate 40-ton rig.
  15. Another age is for Core heads only, and even some of them will be disappointed with more of the same. [Oct 2001, p.145]

Very, very good RPG. One of the very few games in sony that can compare to Final Fantasy, but of course Final Fantasy will always be the best. But this is still an excellent mech game. Full Review »
