I actually found myself enjoying the game. This may be due to the blood or the speed of the game, or it may even be the strategy that is behind the game. Fighter games can be fought with a lot of strategy, but I just mash the living daylights out of my controller buttons.
BR4 can be fun with friends and those new to the fighting game genre, but the lack of depth and the button mashing controls don’t help BR4 against the high standards set by other games in the fighting genre.
This game with tekken 5, soul calibur 2 and marvel vs capcom 2 was the best fighting games back in days for ps2. Of course, bloody roar 2 was better but still, really good game.
This series has great potential, but it is ruined by the developers by not making it deeper. On the other hand, if you love to button mash, this is the game for you!
It's the perfect example of the sort of game that seems to poised to make its mark on the world and then inexplicably proceeds to hang out at the local mall for its entire adult life.
this game is ok overall, it depends on which version you play.
because of the fact there is 2 versions of this game
one of ntsc-u and pal, which has the english voice acting
and the ntsc-j which has japanese voice acting.
now, im giving the bloody roar 4 at pal and ntsc-u 4/10, the game's "voice acting" at the pal and ntsc-u is absolutely horrible, some of the voice acting are so damn unfitting to the characters (bakuryu, xion and ryoho) which were hilariously bad sometimes, especially xion. the worst part is the cutscenes which the voice acting ain't fitting to the damn lip syncing which says the words in japanese, why hudson couldn't change that to english lip syncing?!
now the japanese version voice acting is good, it fits to the characters and they don't have much problems.
now graphics are outdated, the look like more 2002 or 2001, and this game released 2 months before 2004!
so that's not cool, sry.
controls feel to me a bit stiff, but im settling with them.
overall the japanese version is good, but the english is ****
bloody roar went pretty much downhill after bloody roar 2
Yeah, aesthetically is pleasing. But gameplay is so basic and slow in comparison to br2 now. This is a perfect example of a slow fighting game
