  • Summary: Help Crash save his friends and stop the evil Neo Cortex from taking over the world in Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 7
  2. Negative: 0 out of 7
  1. Crash: Mind Over Mutant doesn’t do anything new. It doesn’t push the franchise into a new realm. It doesn’t innovate. It doesn’t necessarily have the long-lasting appeal or memorable moments of current generation blockbusters. But you know what? Damnit, it’s fun.
  2. Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a surprisingly well put-together platforming title.
  3. A solid platformer. It's fun to play and addictive, and its charming spirit easily overcomes its numerous problems.
  4. If Crash had loosened up the open-world gameplay a bit and fixed the horrible camera system, this could have been another excellent PS2 platformer.
  5. But it’s not quite slick enough underneath all those pretty visuals to earn essential status.
  6. If you enjoyed Crash of the Titans, Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a slightly better game with improvements in critical areas such as controls, gameplay and storyline. Sadly, the camera almost ruins the whole package.

Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant is exactly like its predecessor: a mildly enjoyable platforming romp that's sure to satisfy younger players, but won't provide much that seasoned players haven't already experienced before.

Crash Mind Over Mutant is great. The gameplay is superb, being able to control huge monsters is really fun, and leveling up Crash and the Titans is not half bad. The music is great and catchy, it's suitable for all ages and there's a good amount of collectibles and secrets to obtain. It does have flaws, though. It's a bit short and the cartoon cutscenes are kind of childish, but if you can get past that, you'll love it. And getting 100% is not that fast, so it's not that short of a game. It's a great game and recommendable to any fun-loving gamer. Expand

Crash: Mind over Mutant is a decent game. Dialog between the characters can be funny at times although I wished they could have animated the cutscenes in CGI instead of animating them in a distinctive artstyle (the cutscenes in the game represent the art styles from TV series like South Park and DragonBall Z). Gameplay is more platforming than action between smacking Titans and stuff. The environments are colourful and now you can pretty much freeroam around Wumpa Island instead of picking levels from a warp room like the earlier Crash games. What is annoying though is that the camera can't be adjusted which can be a pain while backtracking through a part of the island. The ending could be a bit better too. However, Crash: Mind over Mutant is a nice game that fans of platformers should enjoy. Collapse

The crash series has lost its luster in recent years. While the Playstation games could have possibly created a rival for sonic and mario, Naughty Dog left, and the PS2 games, while still fun, didn't have what the other crash games had that made them so good. And the last crash game for the ps2, does it live up to what the originals, or does it follow the trend? Well first off, there were no holds barred when representing the bandicoot this time around. Huge amounts of fan service can be found in this game. I mean, tell me, when was the last time you saw N. Brio in a mainstream crash game? That's right. The characetr that 67% percent of you won't remember is in this game. Presentation quality is top notch. The game's graphics look well done, and the greatness excells even further in the writing. What some of the characters have to say in the game are hillarious. Over 8,500 lines in the game, and a majority of them being funny. Cutscenes are animated in several different styles, which is a nice touch, and you can replay them whenevr you like, although you can't replay CG cutscenes for some reason. Voice acting is top notch, and they even had the money to get voice actors from some of the most famous cartoons ever. Tom Kenny who voices Spongebob and Ice King, Richard Horvitz from Invader Zim, and so much more. HOW DO THEY SPARE THE MONEY TO GET TOM KENNY? YOU'D IMAGINE HIM TO BE A BUSY GUY! But however, as fantastic and fan worthy the presentation of the game is, so much was put into it that they forgot to focus on the gameplay, which is what you should be doing. The game is in a full roaming world instead of levels. And once again, crash is redesigned for this game. It's basically a beat em up platformer. The Titan mechanic from last years game has also made a return, although, can I ask why? Sometimes, It feels like the whole game revolves around the titan mechanic Expand

It's an alright game, but it's nowhere near as fun or memorable as the older Crash games. Some of the dialogue and cutscenes are very funny. As you could have guessed by the title and box cover, the gameplay is based more off of Crash of the Titans and not the classic games.

The gameplay is alright, and it's fun controlling all the monsters/titans and such, but it can dry out rather quickly and become dull. The gameplay and controls can even be wonky and irritating at times.

Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant is exactly like its predecessor: bad. The humorous cutscenes aren't enough to counter the negative game. Crash has undergone some changes with new developers over time but now we hit the rock bottom. Expand

still a disgrace just like the last game. hack-n-slash instead of platforming. characters are still trash too. it should be called trash bandicoot. Activision should just hand it back to universal since they don't know crap about crash bandicoot. Expand
