  1. Not a total disappointment. Konami did a wonderful job with the graphics and sound. Unfortunately, the rest needs some work.
  2. Sluggish at best and the controls leave a lot to be desired. Very often this game looks like it is moving at half speed, and you never get that visual feeling of speed that you get from other titles.
  3. This is a much improved effort by Konami, but it's not going to out-"Tony Hawk" Neversoft. No way. [Dec 2002, p.42]
  4. The level design is uninspired, the controls ... well don't, and the game's sense of speed is nonexistent.
  5. A game's strength is not found in its replays nor its deck editing. It's found in its gameplay, which is precisely where Evolution Skateboarding falters.
  6. 40
Compared to the numerous improvements and mini-games in the incredibly playable "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4," Evolution Skateboarding feels as if it were already on the brink of extinction.
  7. The fact that you have to hold down the manual button to keep it going is simply preposterous; it's nearly impossible to transition to a grind or another trick. [Dec 2002, p.90]

I am a true skater, not a critic, and I think this is an outstanding game. It isn't too easy. It brings a challenge amungst gamers and skaters alike. Also , it gives credit to amazing pro skaters who most people may not know of. Expand

THe one problem i had was you CANT PICK THE LEVEL FOR VS MODE!!!!! that was the worst thing about the game. I also liked that i was more realilistic i mean in THPS you can get like 100,000 points with one trick but this game the most i have got was 12,000. I hope they make a sequel and fix the minor problems up. Expand
