  1. Still one of the most rewarding racers out there. Stick with it long enough and you'll be glad that you did. [Nov 2002, p.50]
  2. The visuals are top notch – all of the effects look great, even down to the muffler stutter when throttling up.
  3. Captures the feeling of driving a car like no other game on the planet. The physics model is so highly developed and tuned that it actually makes this bare-bones game very engaging. [Oct 2002, p.83]

You must like that individual car an awful lot; you have to like only two viewpoints, bad music, and less than forgiving AI. And you have to like simulation racing real bad.
  5. The visuals and audio could have been improved greatly, but if you want to log the many hours to master the controls, underneath all the pain and suffering is a pretty enjoyable racing game.
  6. Surprisingly, you'll find that the graphics hold up remarkably well, and the control, though at times frustrating, is as unforgiving and challenging as in the original.
  7. 70
A potentially rewarding but decidedly punishing experience.
  8. The game's steep learning curve will have sim-heads in heaven, but may be a little too tough for most. [Nov 2002, p.128]
  9. 70
What the game lacks in the bells and whistles department, it makes up for in its insane depth.
  10. I like the idea of a simulation driving game but I just don’t think it’s feasible. Confining it to one car hurts the game’s replay value.
  11. It’s depth will hook hardcore racing fans, but its difficult AI will have mostly everyone else frustrated.
  12. Plagued by sound that's not so good and a very challenging difficulty level, this isn't quite one we'd expect to wear the Ferrari name.
  13. There are a butt load of better racers on the PlayStation 2 that are worth your time and money.
  14. Full unadulterated boredom. [Oct 2002, p.147]

This makes any kind of fine control impossible. Also the force feedback is totally whacky implemented. The graphics are sub par. There seem to be few polys, the textures are very bland and the aliasing is the worst I've seen on a PS2. In the sound department all is not well either; the Ferrari engine sounds like a powerdrill. Why the developers chose to ruin the steering I beyond me. I wanted this game to be good. A disgrace to racing fans and to the F355. Avoid. Full Review »
