  1. Games Radar
A fine racing sim, and a fantastic F1 title. Highly recommended indeed.
  2. With its groundbreaking realism, intelligent opponents and top playability, F1 2001 has set a new standard in racing simulations.
  3. The feeling of speed in Formula One 2001 really gives you a thrilling ride. This coupled with the excellent AI, great handling, the latest F1 data and faultless presentation push it streets ahead of the competition.
  4. Game Informer
Effectively the Gran Turismo of the F1 video-game scene. [Nov 2001, p.108]
  5. 80
Arcade racers will be quite challenged by the difficulties of true F1 racing, and may run crying back to the muscle cars in GT3 out of frustration. However, if you already know what F1 racing is all about, then you can expect a well-crafted racing experience.
  6. Not a car game just anyone can pick up and play. You have to be able to fully control the car, which is one of the game's biggest challenges; if you don't, you're in for a long and disappointing afternoon.
  7. While EA Sports' F1 title has better graphics, sound, and features, Formula One 2001's superior driving and racing model make it the PS2 F1 game of choice in my mind.
  8. While the game is pretty fun, it isn't much to look at.
