  • Summary: Futurama begins when Professor Farnsworth sells his delivery ship Planet Express to the evil businesswoman Mom, giving her ownership of over fifty percent of the Earth, making her the supreme ruler. You must prevent Mom from enslaving humanity and dominating the universe by taking the Planet Express crew back in time to stop the deal from taking place. Play as Fry, Bender, Leela and Dr. Zoidberg, each with their own special fighting skills and weapons as you visit familiar scenes from the hit series: Planet Express, the Red Light District, New New York, as well as a host of new environments. With each character's unique skills, you can master their power ups and complete their tasks leading them to victory against Mom and her death bot troopers. [Vivendi Universal] Expand

  1. People who are fans of the show will enjoy this game quite thoroughly and the cut scenes make the game seem like a never seen before episode.
  2. Excellent progression and flow are at hand; detonations, interactive environments, timing platforms, memory and action puzzles, pattern-based obstacles, killer bosses, gut-busting 3D movies, excellent level design, spot-on visuals, a vivid soundtrack. [Sept 2003, p.69]
  3. Fanboys (and girls!) of Bender, Frye, Leela and the Planet Express gang will definitely want to add this game to their collection; it’s much better than comparable software based on TV shows cancelled prematurely.
  4. It's too bad that clunky controls and eh game play stay forever buried in a time lock of dull sloppiness.

Fans of the show may be able to put up with the sometimes ponderous gaming just to get a peek at an all-new adventure, but not many else will. Like riding a stationary bike for a half-hour to watch Yu-Gi-Oh! -- it's just not worth it.
  6. The cutscenes are great, making an episode's worth of good animation here for the viewing, but I wouldn't want you to pay $50 and suffer through this hack-job of a game just to get to it. [Sept 2003, p.109]
  7. Is Futurama fun for fans of 3D platform or shooter games? As Leela once said, "At the risk of sounding negative, no."

Even though alot of people say bad things about this game, I think that it's actually very fun and original. I also think you can enjoy Futurama's levels, charcters (voice), jokes and every other aspect of the game even if you're not a Futurama freak. This game is well worth your money. Collapse

Being from Europe, I get to play this game before most of you guys in the USA. It's really funny for starters, each character has so many catchphrases. Even the monsters are hilarious! Graphics are cool and it's not too hard to find your way around. It's not as easy as it seems however. Sure it doesn't take much knowledge but moving from one obstacle to the next can be quite tricky and you have to be quite fast. You also get to various checkpoints but have to complete a whole level(which can take some time) before saving your game. Entertaining to say the least!! Expand

even thought I love futurama, this game is boring and why get a game over at the beginning of the game? there is not that much of a story and it is nothing like the real show. so this is a waste of money if you get this. Expand

If anything this game is nothing more than a long episode of Futurama. As a game it fails miserably. Controls are wonky, platforming is crude and flawed, levels are a bit dull and needlessly frustrating due to poor camera angles in some parts.

But the humor is there, the art work is top notch and the cast do a fantastic job.

Don't bother playing this game yourself, rather watch someone else do it because as a game it is a pain, but as a lost episode of Futurama it's great.
