well naughty dog sold out the series to some one else for money. and the game is not right! i dont know what it is it just doesn't feel right. the sound and music make you know it's a game. the world is empty feeling and lonely. the game itself is decent but it is just not enough. i played for about 3 hours and i dont want to finish it. the jak series has been like a bunch of chocolate this last edition is a vanilla disapointment! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US NAUGHTY DOG!!!! I used to love the jak and daxter series but selling it to another company has just made it crap. The only reason I didn't give this a zero is because the ships at least looked quite cool.

Jak and Daxter: One of the first games for the PS2, it had beautiful graphics unlike any other game seen before. The controls were tight, the music fit the mood and Daxter was entertaining. Jak 2: An obvious cash-in on the GTA craze sweeping the nation, but not bad. Music was fitting, controls were once again tight, the graphics were even better and Daxter was, again, amusing. Jak 3: Best music, best dialogue, best graphics, best gameplay, best EVERYTHING. Jak X: The "black sheep" of the franchise, it was a fairly decent racing game. Graphics were at their prime, story was pieced together but still enjoyable, and Daxter was still enjoyable. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier: Mediocre rip of a PSP game with lifeless voice-acting, inconsistent animation (Jak's shirt actually changes in one cutscene. Fail.), lifeless music. Major changes: Jak has a new voice actor. Keira's face has been rearranged . Daxter is very, very fluffy. Flying is a large part of the game now. Even compared to the racing game (which i'll admit to liking very much, actually) this game is a colossal failure, the furthest the franchise has fallen. It's one big cliche storm, the enemies are generic, everything is OFF. I'd go as far as to say this game is disgusting. The only part I liked at all (in fact, I loved it) was the flying; you could send Daxter to sabotage other planes! Very fun. But aside from that, this game is terrible. Fans will hate his game, and I can almost guarentee that. STEER CLEAR FROM THE LOST FRONTIER. Expand

I have been playing the Jak and Daxter series since the second grade,I grew up playing these games and keeping track of when the next one would come out. I was so excited to finally get my hands on The Lost Frontier and continue the amazing journey.Unfortunately, there were some very disappointing factors in this new game that in my opinion lowered the reputation of the Jak and Daxter series drastically. The fact that this game wasn't made by Naughty Dog threw me off.Why would you start a game series so unbelievable, then hand it over to a company that makes poor, half ass games like Phineas and Ferb 3 - Across the 2nd Dimension... High Impact seriously?! Everything from the graphics,to the camera positioning to the range of movements and weapon ability is badly effected in this new game. They need to remake The Lost Frontier by Naughty Dog and continue the series the way its supposed to be,unbeatable, unbelievable and beautiful.C'mon Naughty Dog,keep it up! This was a good but it's a Jak and Daxter game, and didn't have the same feel. The other Jak and dax games had a 3-D platforming game with a fun sandbox world and this game didn't have that. The characters are copy pasted from the other games with worse traits and where the F$%K are the light and dark powers! The games still good but not half as good as its predecessors

I'm just so disappointed that Naughty Dog stopped the series after Jak X, there is so many ways this game is just not right. The story: wtf? it's a completely different story about the world running out of eco, this is not a real sequel, this is not even Jak IV. Speaking of Jak, he does look bad. The story and direction is a plain disgrace. No light and dark Jak either and there are many other terrible things about this game. Expand

This is a really good game, even though it was released near the end of the PS2's sell by date. The flying was unreal, though the camera is fairly poor and Dark Daxter wasn't really adding much in terms of gameplay, but for what it is,its fairly solid.

This game is very deserving of a zero BUT here's why. The Jak and Daxter series is a series looked at very highly upon due to story, creativity, gameplay, and much much more. This is because the original developers, Naughty Dog are very talented at what they do. When this game was announced which its fans had been waiting very patiently for a new installment, they expected to get a return of their favorite heroes to continue the amazing story and adventure from Jak 3. This is not at all the case being that the new developers High Impact Games had made it a spin off which has nothing to do with anything the fans of the series had loved it for. This caused mass hatred towards High Impact Games because despite it being a poor installment in the series, it was a poorly crafted game, from the mechanics to gameplay. It also took away the open world and key features such as dark and light Jak which had been an iconic aspect to Jak since Jak II. This game was very linear and the only way to 100% it is the first time around. The actual game itself taking out all elements of the Jak series would receive a 5 but because it takes away everything from what the series was, it was a disaster. There were many poor ideas crafted into the game such as Dark Daxter which feels as if they were taken from a webpage filled with illogical requests to put into the game from a fan that didn't quite understand the reason behind the previous games story. They all have no correlation to the story and what is set as reality in the game. This series has been in high demand by its true fans for a while now and even now after this game had ruined the name of what Jak and Daxter is, we want a Jak game made by Naughty Dog to satisfy our disappointment from this game. This is a precious series and should not be made for the sake of it, but rather by people who understand what the series is about and what is supposed to happen in the story that coincides with the previous games story. I was very disappointed to have gotten my hopes up for this game back in 2009 and i hope that one day, Naughty Dog decides to make a new Jak and Daxter game to continue the great story that many people have been intrigued by for years and want their questions to be answered through amazing gameplay and story! This is a joke, this game is a joke, graphics are so disappointing, you can't even hurt the citizens anymore, that was part of jak, whether small or large it was a part the graphics are bad, the new voices and looks of characters are horrid, the way jaks freedoms were altered are bad, his platforming is garbage, (jumping and grabbing ledges specifically. I will never ever buy a naughty dog or high impact game again, naughty dog should be ashamed, they gave up because they couldn't make it look more realistic without taking the characters personality away, I wouldn't have minded the jak 3 graphics with a modernized animation of course would have been awesome compared to this trash. Such a shame, naughty dog get your title back one day please.... Expand

There’s fun to be had here, but it could’ve been polished a bit more to bring out the value.
  2. If you've been hankering for a full-scale Jak and Daxter game for some time, The Lost Frontier largely fulfills its duty as a continuation of the main series with flying colors. It's not a perfect sequel by any means, but it's strong enough to merit a purchase and some solid play time. Just be prepared to deal with some bumps along the way.
  3. Unless you're a die-hard Jak and Daxter fan, Jak and Daxter: The Final Frontier isn't worth the coin.
