  1. It's been developed so that the more you play it, the more you enjoy it. And there's enough depth and unlockables--not to mention a two-player mode--that this one is far less likely to collect dust than any other racers you may have in your collection.
  2. Electronic Gaming Monthly
It's "SSX Tricky" on water. [Jan 2003, p.176]
  3. Performing stunts is easy -- almost too easy, if you ask me.
  4. GMR Magazine
More extreme sports fun, but this time it's all wet. Finishing is only half the battle: performing tricks factors into the final standings. [Feb 2003, p.92]
  5. Doesn’t offer anything new to players who have played "Wave Race" and "Jet Moto."
  6. Game Informer
An uneventful, but not altogether unenjoyable racing game that fails to distinguish itself from the pack. [Dec 2002, p.120]
  7. If you’re looking for a technically gorgeous title that truly shows off the depth of its environments to the limits of the system hardware, X2O does a beautiful job of giving the player amazing water effects.
  8. Features some great tracks and can be fun to play at times, but it does not have the challenge or features to give it real staying power.
  9. A good middle-of-the-road trick-based racer that should please fans of the genre, and it's an accessible entry point for newcomers as well.
  10. The lack of creative ideas and thinking made this a pretty bland watercraft game.
  11. A knockoff game but one well enough done in the abscence of a new version of the game it's imitating to warrant your time.
  12. 70
Would have appeared more innovative and garnered a higher Fun Factor rating if not for its blatant similarities in presentation, features, competition modes, FMVs, and even screen layouts with "SSX Tricky."
  13. 70
Doesn't really try to do anything new at all, and so it comes off as just another basically average and forgettable game.
  14. I thought this game was fun... for 10 minutes. Every time I fired the game up I really wanted to see that "SSX Tricky" splash screen instead. "SSX" is just a lot more fun and satisfying.
  15. I’d liken Jet X20 to playing a not as much fun or polished version of "SSX."
  16. 60
A solid, fun addition to the extreme water sports genre. Borrowing liberally from "SSX's" winning bag of tricks, the game proves entertaining, if not innovative.
  17. Thoroughly under-produced, lacking balance and sophistication. Problems with accessibility and core gameplay combine with a confusing, illogical level design and an uninspiring back-story to create a game that I wouldn't recommend.
  18. PSM Magazine
The characters are designed to attempt coolness; instead, they just say unfunny one-liners to each other - that's inexcusable. [Holiday 2002, p.54]
  19. Unfortunately, frustrating AI, boring course variety, and uninspired tricks give this game a slightly above average, generic feel.
  20. Jet is not a wolf in sheep's clothing, it's a sheep in sheep's clothing. It's just what you would expect and nothing more.
  21. Decent graphics and gameplay aside, it just isn't terribly fun, and we've already seen a lot of these gameplay ideas in better games like the "SSX" series.
  22. 58
Any sense of coolness quickly evaporates as soon as you pick up a controller as Jet X2O suffers from a control scheme that is twitchier than a two year old on speed.
  23. Where Jet X20 falls short is in providing a single, consistent experience. The way racing and tricking are implemented, it is impossible to concentrate on both at the same time.
  24. Lack of online play, so-so visuals, and familiar gameplay doesn’t really bode well in the end.
  25. A solid attempt at watercraft racing that will satisfy less demanding players, but it's a hard game to recommend when earlier games in the genre have done just about everything better.
  26. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
"SSX" looked better two years ago, and the water comes nowhere near equaling that in last year's "Splashdown." [Dec 2002, p.160]

Extreemly Fun and addicting. Awsome stunts and super good graphics. A must for any racing fan who wants a game a bit diffrent than cars and bikes.
