It's not a recommended purchase for those who aren't fans of the series (and "Gundam Wing" followers are advised to stay well away), but it was never intended to be anything else.
  2. Enjoyable despite its flaws, and it offers those who have never seen the original television series or its movie adaptation a condensed version of a classic part of anime history.

For a mech combat game, Journey to Jaburo isn't terrible, but it is lacking good control and the graphics are pretty sad overall.

Limited button-customization, poor object detection, and sloppy beam-saber execution add to the frustrations. Still, Journey to Jaburo is an enjoyable alternative for fans of giant-robot games.
  5. If, however, this is your first introduction to the Gundam series and a solid game is more your goal, you’ll find the gameplay frustrating and the average graphics and sound disappointing.
  6. Diminished quality, lackluster programming effort and PlayStation 2-unworthy effects.
  7. The game isn’t particularly innovative, and ends rather rapidly. It is more of a Gundam teaser than a really rich gaming experience.
  8. The presentation is really where Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo shines.
  9. 50
What it does have is anime cutscenes and voices lifted right out of the Gundam Wing series, and ultimately, fans of the series are the only ones who will get real enjoyment from it.
  10. If you're a huge fan of the original Gundam series, this is your Game of the Year...On the other hand, if you're just looking for a fun game, Jaburo will likely bore you with snail's pace gameplay and frustrating missions.

Wow, it is odd how it can get such a good score then some critics are losers...

This game is really great and the reason that people don't like it is because they put the limitations of the mechs into their response This game is really great and the reason that people don't like it is because they put the limitations of the mechs into their response to your controls. Each mech had a variable tolerance for inputing different types of moves. Once you learn the limitations of each mech it is not hard at all to make them do what you want. The downside of the game is the lack of missions to play. The story mode is great but very brief and not to challenging. The tactic battles are also great fun (I played them till i had S+ ratings for all the missions) but there were only three mission maps. Full Review »

    Good but a little short.
