One thing you have to do is master a new playing style. I think its great. I've been running fast break in NBA Live since '99. I was killing the computer. I had to handicap myself just to make the game fun. Now that NBA Live AI runs the break its a much better game. D is possible, you just have to use your head and properly utilize team strategy and you will be ok. If you take dumb or bad shots you will pay on the other end! Once you have a good offense that compliments your style and your players, + become able to Identify & execute on fast break opportunities you will love this game!… Expand

It is just great.

While EA has fixed many of the problems of the past few years, a whole new crop has appeared, and this time the problems are just annoying. The game has the added feature of a "Draw Charge" button, which is a great idea, but it also means that if you are quick you can draw a call ever play. Players will fall down constantly, whether or not a call is made on the play. These guys are great actors, but unfortunately that doesn't translate to a fun basketball game experience. If a player is hit while in a shooting animation, the animation will stop, so you have to hit the shoot button repeatedly. On defense there is little more than drawing charges. You can get upwards of 8 to 10 blocks a game with just your center, but the opposing team will still shoot 75% for the game. The freestyle control is a wonderful addition, but the collision detection of the game is horrible. Players will fall over when the ball carrier runs by. You can spin move into someone and just stay in one place, or you can go through three men for a two hand dunk. In all it is just an extremely frustrating game, which is why I am returning my copy and trading in for NBA 2K3.… Expand

This game is fun but it is in no way realistic i mean getting 12 blocks in a game every game with 4 minute quarters is just gay. Players don't even look like they should. Shaq has skinny legs for goodness sakes. EA has the lockdown on football games but Sega deff. has the edge when it comes to basketball.

The gameplay is pretty good, as is the norm with this series. However, some of the rosters were never updated (Wizards star guard Jerry Stackhouse still plays with the Pistons) and, in the eyes of this franchise lover, the franchise mode could use some work. While it is a decent game overall, I'm gonna see what 2K3 has to offer based on this product's bearable but still-annoying flaws.

It is very very good, but I cannot wait for the next one to come out.

This game sucks, I hate it so much.

It's just not as good as my favorite, which gets a hundred, 2k3.
