A good pick for kids that love Nickelodeon; of course, expect to buy another game shortly after gifting due to the unimpressive length. At least it looks good and is a bit of fun.
It is a slight improvement over its **** music is good, and voice acting is okay. It is just repetitive though. I would recommend this okay game to nicktoon fans.
With another installment from the Nicktoons in video gaming, it isn't an improvement of its predecessor. It feels like a nerf. Nevertheless, it's another enjoyable installment for your kid(s).
Though the basic elements are recycled long after they get tired, the core gameplay is solid enough that the game doesn't feel like a chore. Sure, it's simple, but this IS a kids' game, and great fan service at that.
Most gamers, however, will be turned off by its overly easy objectives, most of which involve the same few actions. Camera confusion ensures disappointment by all but the most forgiving players.
A generic platformer to say the least. It is obvious the game’s focus is on the franchises rather than the core gameplay mechanics. One for the diehard fanatics only.
While not being overwhelmingly good, this Nicktoons title has nothing wrong with it, and while being extremely mediocre most of the time it certainly delivers what it intends to, and is great for children andor fans of the shows and the Nick crossovers (!).
And yes, this game is from 10 years ago, and it shows, but this is one of those games where it doesn't actually matter.
The game is a rather simple 3D platformer, not too many surprises, but it does its thing well enough.
It isn't that much of a challenge, and therefore is good for children who may not be in for a tedious 'Game Over' announcement every now and then (there's no such in this one!).
There's a respectable amount of collectibles which would provide some extra content (which is also respectably good, there are some nicely done bonus levels!), but it is all optional, and you can simply flow through the levels, ignoring a large part of your enemies even, and just get through it.
The level design is pretty linear even though it tries not to be, but, is nice enough to play through.
Story isn't too deep, but, what can you expect of Nickelodeon children's shows? It is serviceable and not bad at all actually, and delivers well the 'nicktoons spirit' and the characters' traits and humor into what little story we have here.
The graphics are OK, of course that 10 years later it'd look pretty poor compared to nowadays' products, but it is lush and colorful and fun to watch, there are several different locations, each are different and varying, and as the rest of the game. are completely passable and enjoyable.
Sound and music starts out a little annoying to my taste, but it gets better and you can get used to it.
Bottom line - It has some value even today if you're a nicktoons fan. Or, if you want something nice intended for children.
A simple and short platforming game. Doesn't bring much to the table, but it provides enough enjoyment for what it is. Especially if you're a fun of SpongeBob, Danny Phantom and Timmy Turner.
This game was an honest surprise for me. I honestly do think it had a pretty decent storyline, and I think the levels have improved. The boss battles are also a lot less annoying, which honestly surprises me. There is also a surprising amount of re-playability here, since everything you collect in the game goes towards unlocking extra levels and costumes for the 6 playable characters, and special content like the art gallery and zoo. The only thing that didn't improve in my opinion is the gameplay, because every character just feels the same, with no differences, and the camera is just as horrible. Overall, if you like the shows, or enjoyed the previous game, than I recommend it.
I decided to play this game after several years of not playing it because I was a little curious and had nothing better to do. I had low expectations for this game and sadly the game does not exceed those expectations. As a mindless beat em up, it can be kind of fun at first. However, boredom and repetition quickly set in. I was already bored with this game half way though and consider that this game is only 2 and a half hours, that's pretty pathetic. The biggest problem is that you pretty much saw everything the game offers after the first level. On top of that, the game is extremely easy. I didn't even die once in the game, and there was only one time where my life bar went into the red. The models are sub par for PS2. But the graphics are overall colorful and the music can be good in a few spots. If you have some nostalgia to this game or Nicktoons as a whole. Or you have a friend with nothing else to play. Then Battle for Volcano Island might be okay, but otherwise there no need to play this.
