In the Star Wars: Episode III video game, players control all the Jedi abilities of both Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, including devastating Force powers and advanced lightsaber techniques involving robust combo attacks and defensive maneuvers. As Anakin, players unleash the power of the dark side in ruthless lightsaber and Force attacks. As Obi-Wan, players struggle to save the galaxy from darkness by focusing the power of the light side into swift and precise lightsaber attacks and using the Force to control enemy actions. 1. The game can be completed in 5-6 hours, although finding all the secrets—which allow you to increase your health and force meters—can take considerably longer.

It's not a bad game at all, but it can be quite frustrating on anything but the easy difficulty as often times you'll be surrounded by mountains of enemies and your force powers always seem a little shy of getting the job done until you're much further in the game.
  3. An above average action game that fans of the movie are sure to love.
  4. It's obviously been slapped together from action sequences in the film to make a complimentary game and hopefully some easy cash, but on its own, it's less than stellar.
  5. Fortunately, the 1-on-1 fighting sequences are there to save it, but it would've been great if there were more of them and less of a focus on the average action sequences. If anything, it would've made the game last longer than the five hours it takes to beat it.

Worst of all is the repetitive and completely linear feel of every mission.

Quite simply, Revenge… is the worst kind of Star Wars game - one that looks good enough to appeal to impulsive fans, but ultimately fails to deliver by being a horribly derivative, stale and linear example of the genre it so lazily falls into. [July 2005, p.114]

The one thing missing from all prior Star wars games was the wicked light duels fights from the film. The Multi Player mode works well and the driods, stormtroopers and jedi enimies are all well designed with reasonable A.I as are the Boss Battles. This game really makes you look like your a master of the force which is what games of this nature should strive to do in my opinion. Make you look like a demi god from the first moment of play. Easily on parr with Prince of Persia WW or devil may cry 3. (Not Devil May Cry 1 though). Expand

The only problem is, as has been previously mentioned, that it doesn't really last that long. Still, the number of force powers available to you, and the various lightsaber combos you can pull off make trekking thru the levels again in repeated attempts to find all the secret bonuses alot of fun. Also, getting maximum experience ratings on all of each level isn't as easy as you'd think. A must-play for Star Wars fans, though i'd recommend a rental first. Expand
