  1. As well as upgrading the visuals and modes though, the controls have also been tweaked; while the original game was considered a bit too fast to play properly, Smackdown: JBI has been slowed down ever so slightly to allow for more strategic and authentic action… which is always a good thing.
  2. While the control scheme is easy to grasp and intuitive, simple commands on the controller translate into some incredibly complex and violent moves onscreen. The use of one button for general defense adds great realism.
  3. Fans of the title and the WWF in general will flock to it – everyone else will raise an eyebrow and leave it at the rental counter.
  4. Sets a standard all subsequent wrestling game will have to meet.
  5. Control difficulties with multiple opponents may be too much for some to overlook.
  6. Die-hard fans wresting fans will love this game. [Jan 2002, p.142]
  7. The type of game that makes people claim PS2 is all about graphics and no gameplay. With no career mode, no WCW/ECW stars and an incredibly shallow Story Mode, there's simply NO reason to even rent this game.

Overall good game. I didn't like the commentary, they sounded like robots. And they really needed to update the wrestlers outfits.

Average in every way, those who think better r dumber than the wrestlers themselves.
