  • Summary: Apart from the fast paced combat and responsive controls it's the unique graphics engine used that sets it apart from the rest. Battle Fantasia is played in two-dimensions but uses three-dimensional polygonal character models cleverly illustrated and lit to emulate 2D style sprites. The result is called ‘2.5D’ and delivers a fast and fluid fighting game that promises to satisfy novice players and hardcore fans alike. With a roster of unique characters each with their own fighting style and special moves, Battle Fantasia promises to set the standard for PlayStation3 beat ‘em ups. [505 Games] Expand

  1. Battle Fantasia, a fighting game developed by Arc System Works, creators of Guilty Gear franchise, is a good title, with 12 beautifully illustrated characters in a good JRPG style. But this game can't compete with the high profile fighters, especially SFIV, or the own GG saga.
  2. A nice little curiosity, but seriously, Street Fighter V is out. [Mar 2009, p.78]
  3. There's a decent fighting system underneath all the pencil-sketches and pixie dust. [Mar 2009, p.102]

Good for japanese language learners (lots of dialogues, with subtitles) , with funny stories.

  2. Decent fighting game if you do not care much about depth. Japanese VA with subtitles is a nice plus, and the anime inspired characters are very great looking. The online community is dead however, and the amount of fighters available is only 12. Good casual Fighting! Expand
