  • Summary: On the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA Soccer 10 mirrors real-world soccer, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction between players. In addition, players now move, behave and position themselves more realistically. On attack, players analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better-urgency clearance logic provide new options that make defending a tactical skill in FIFA Soccer 10. In goal, a myriad of improvements and refinements to goalkeeper intelligence result in a more responsive and powerful rushing system and ultra-realistic saves. Better balance on lofted through balls, improved goalkeeper intelligence, more realistic shooting mechanics with less shots hitting the goal posts, a practice arena to perfect skills, and a more immersive soccer experience through continuous play and quick free kicks are just a few of the issues raised by fans and addressed in FIFA Soccer 10. Three new innovations revealed today at E3 have been developed to change the player control experience in FIFA Soccer 10. The first-ever true 360 degree dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible. Using an all-new animation technology, skilled dribblers now have the ability to face the defender and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him. An innovative concept called Freedom in Physical Play enables players to perform wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender.
FIFA Soccer 10 also features a deeper iteration of the ever-popular Manager Mode with more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves. [Electronic Arts]

  1. FIFA 10 is all the best a football fan could imagine, you simply have to have it. The score is the right prize for a nearly perfect game that deserves the right prize for the work done in the last years that brought the average arcade game of the past, to the nearest thing to real football actually available. You'll stop playing FIFA 10 only when FIFA 11 will be on shelves. Great job EA, great job Moore, great job Rutter. You have to play it!
  2. FIFA 10 is the world's best football simulation to date.
  3. This is undoubtedly the best FIFA game ever made, and by far the most accurate virtual depiction of this magical sport.

But for all those FIFA fans who are annoyed at the dodgy AI and lack of real control in FIFA ’09 – I think it’s safe to say you won’t be disappointed with this year’s edition. Whether playing single player and pushing your team through tournaments or taking your personal ‘Be a Pro’ player online and making a name for yourself – there are hours upon hours of pure football brilliance here.
  5. FIFA 10 is the reference for license-driven soccer. Intriguing gameplay, brilliant graphics and the huge amount of different modes are driving the series towards perfection.
  6. FIFA 10 is a great all around game for any soccer fan. Of course, if you aren’t a soccer fan you won’t find much of any interest here.

In a way, the main reason I'm somewhat disappointed is that developer EA Canada has the tough part down: the gameplay and controls. But soccer is about so much more than that -- it's about patriotism, atmosphere, and passion. For the inevitable World Cup follow-up, I'd really like to see those elements shine through -- and it wouldn't hurt to not ship with so many bugs, either.

Bought a used-version of this game for $12. And i get unlimited hours of fun. Best gaming deal of my life. Oh hell yeah... Controls are brilliant, decent graphics, many fantastic game modes. I will never forget the time and memories i had with fifa 10. To quote ea sports : "It's in the game!" Expand

A big game of football, in this type is the best for PS3. PES - Imagination & superficiality...
FIFA - Reality & emotion in a game of
football. The best of both. Simply excelent! Expand

I played nearly every FIFA game, also FIFA 13, and i must say that this is the best FIFA all time. But it don't gets 10 out of ten, because the online mode is not that kind I usual see in football games. When the opponent cancels the game, it'll not be counted. So there are only 9 points for a apart from that very good game, that searches for an equal. Expand

Same formula over and over again. Good formula although. It becomes quickly repetitive and challenging (and frustrating) in higher difficulty. Only for those who love football. Yes football and not soccer (what a stupid name...). Expand

FIFA 10 is a great soccer videogame and very fun to play especially as a Virtual Pro in Pro Clubs online. The game's speed is way too high and it's very easy to pass and score but you still had full control over what's happening on the pitch and normally the best player wins and not always the luckiest. I give this game only a 7, because later there are/were many bugs and glitches that could be used online and destroyed the online experience in the last weeks until FIFA 11 came out. Also, that FIFA 10 is more an actual "Game" than a Simulation of realistic soccer and right now it's not very motivating anymore because the online servers were taken offline. And offline, FIFA 10 is almost useless. Expand

El Fifa 10 es bastante mejor que el 09, pero aun así deja muchísimo que desear, de todas formas, se nota la diferencia jugable respecto al PES2010, mas fluido y mas real, en los gráficos, es pésimo un año mas, mejora un poco..pero aun así...parecen de play 1, luego también esta el apartado de modo manager, apenas mejorado y muy tosco, un juego que no estaba a las alturas de las menos, esa es mi opinión. great game up to professional difficulty. after that the game becomes ridiculous. numerous apparent refereeing errors, (e.g. unfair distribution of cards) wierd team difficulties, ull find ur self losing to birmingham but smashing united and buggy too. the manager mode is atrocious. the whole game is poor. virtually unplayable with friends because the game will always give an unfair slant. still... better than pes.
