The Harry Potter film tie-ins end on a low note with this short, tedious, and conceptually vapid cover shooter.

Not a good game. It's sad that the last game to ever bear the Harry Potter name (well, until the inevitable MMO) is such a disappointment.
  3. A ham-fisted cover shooter with sloppy controls and dully weaponry (read: spells). [Sept 2011, p.116]

Offers little variation and hardly requires strategic input, which leaves a mindless third-person shooter. The well-executed story and great looking characters make it a tad more interesting, but these elements can't hide the fact that the four-eyed magician often turns to his wands for simple and selfish needs.

    A subpar cover shooter. [Issue#208, p.92]

For fans of gaming, stay well clear. Even as far as movie-tie-ins go, this title is the biggest crime to the Harry Potter franchise since Emma Watson decided looking like a public schoolboy is sexy.

Terrible AI, boring levels and no finesse whatsoever. Avoid this one.

What a sad ending for the Harry Potter videogame saga this part 2 is. Solely focused on action, in order to give meaning to the PS Move but failing in doing so, this PS3 title a simple port of the Wii version. Visually below average, too linear and too short, this adaptation of Harry's adventures will only have appeal in the eyes of the yonger and most Potter-addicted gamers.

A horrible action game with lousy control and graphics. A sad end to a series of games that EA has treated embarrasingly bad.

The Harry Potter videogame franchise goes out with a whimper, not a bang. Where the series could have ended on a satisfying note, this is a short, linear and ultimately unsatisfying ending that not even the most hardest core of Potterophiles will enjoy.

It improves a bit on last year's game, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an uninspired shooter that feels like the Harry Potter license has been forced upon it.

Slow and unexciting firefights with never-ending waves of enemies, a general lack of variation and a horrible form of storytelling resides at the top of a long list of problems.

Year after year the Harry Potter games were getting more worse and this latest game is the best in being the worst Harry Potter game ever. The game is boring, way too short, repetitive and a lot more… in a negative way. The only good part about this game is that there will be no more Harry Potter games from EA. Avoid this one and wait for LEGO Harry Potter that is coming out later this year.

  1. It follows the story of the film. It may be repetitive and slightly inaccurate, but if you want a cheap 3rd person shooter gaming experience that is still fun, then this game is right for you. Full Review »
  2. Although it's never going to win any awards for originality, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows part 2 is an engaging third person shooter that kept me entertained for it's duration. The difficulty and game length are both just about right, and there is also a good smattering of memorable set pieces along the way. I don't know why people are so dismissive of this game. I found it to be a lot of fun... Even if you do have to spend ages magically unlocking small garden gates that you could easily kick off their hinges, or merely hop over. That bit of eye-rolling stupidity aside, this is a descent game. Full Review »
