This is what Suda51 fans want. It's fresh, unique and very, very fun, even though we think it could have used some extra weeks of development to erase that feeling of being a little bit rushed, and become a better game.
Highly recommend. I live for obscure games and this is one of them! Bought this game a month ago and fully enjoyed the weird mayhem! I hope this game gets ported to the Nintendo Switch along with the other games Suda51 developed!
Killer is Dead is really a good game. It surely excels in the field of artwork, I've never seen such beautiful work in may years. The gameplay and it gameplay mechanics is really unique. Totally fun and crazy story as we can expect from Suda51. This game is for those who like to try new things and search for load of good art works and also for the people with anime minds (Otaku) only they can understand the actual story of this game.
Those who are telling this was a waste game. They may be right but only from their point of view. If they tell you not to play this game then they are telling you wrong things.
It is you who are to decide that the game is good or bad as you are to play the game. Not they. So i urge everyone to enjoy this as much as you can.
Lastly my heartiest respect to Mr. Goichi Suda for bringing us a unique and beautiful game to us. Hope you bring us such good works in future.
Looking forward for "Lily Bergamo"
Killer Is Dead is a competent, and oftentimes superb, action title that is held back by an overly obtuse plot and a dating minigame that did more to turn me off from the game entirely.
Stylish and most of the time entertaining as well, this carnage from the mind of a well known weirdo designer Suda 51 doesn't bring anything new to the table, except for its bizarre aesthetics that may or may not suit you. [Issue#234]
Intriguing – despite a mounting pile of evidence showing that it should be terrible. The characters and story are so outlandish and bizarre that they are fascinating – but the nonsense and clunky mechanics never coalesce into a satisfying experience. It lures you in with the promise of something unique, then botches the execution.
Shallow, sexist, and largely nonsensical. The action is amongst Suda51’s best but it’s not leveraged in any way that justifies the failings of the rest of the game.
Between the tedious levels, incoherent story and offputting gigolo missions, I found very little to appreciate about Killer is Dead. I grew quite tired of the shallow game design and weak attempts to distract me from its vacuous lack of substance, and put the game down before rolling credits.
Stupid journalists do not understand games. Do not listen to them.
Killer is Dead is a great game. If you are a fan of Japanese style and hurricane slashers, then you must buy this game without a doubt.
About the sexualisation of women in it. I laughed. Play your glamorous Mass Effect with **** and lesbians, stupid idiots!
Suda Gōichi or for friends Suda 51 founder of Grasshopper Manufacture, one of the craziest and craziest Japanese video game companies, thanks to its creator one of the first designers of this medium that has remained in my memory. The gimmicks with which he filled his games to the limit of the absurd by going against the grain, putting the technical and graphic sector into the background to give importance to the ideas that popped into his head. Inserting lots of quotes and nonsense and exporting beyond the land of the rising sun that vein of irony that distinguishes his country or at least that's what I like to think.Probably one of the few on earth capable of making me waste hours upon hours behind a free-to-play title: Let It Die. Killer Is Dead puts the player in the shoes of a man with a dark and mysterious past: Mondo Zappa (that's his name) who works for a paid killer agency.Work that he is able to do thanks to his multipurpose bionic arm, called Musselback, and a katana that is always sharp and ready to cut monsters and demons of the most varied **** title divided into missions tells a story that never really manages to have an impact and which is overshadowed by the frenetic action gameplay.Once the mission has been selected, followed by a film showing the client and part of the team that makes up the team, we begin. There aren't many settings but they offer a fair level of variety and no sense of continuity: From a palace on the moon, to a moving train, passing through laboratories in the middle of the Nevada desert, to settings that recall the characters, even if in a dark version by J. Lewis Carroll (Alice and Co.)The developers have built a game around its key component: action, creating a fast, agile and ruthless character. Demonic monsters must be disembowelled with simple, effective and spectacular katana combos that will fill the screen with the enemies' blood. Dodging plays a fundamental role as moving just before suffering an attack allows you to slow down time to overwhelm the enemy with button mashing and if the opponent proves to have impassable armor through the trusty bionic arm, it will be possible to break him the guard to resume the attack. The trusty Musselback also has the ability to transform into various secondary weapons: In a form that recalls a submachine gun to hit the most elusive enemy, to one that creates a drill for close-range attacks, passing from a coolant rifle to slow down opponents and to end with the last one (my favourite) a cannon that disintegrates everything it passes through; ideal for getting rid of the **** elimination of the wires, as the lifeless inhabitants of the moon are called, will lead to the release on the screen of a lot of objects, diamonds, lunar crystals and roses which allow, in addition to increasing the level of health and that of the blood needed to carry out executions and use secondary weapons, also upgrade equipment and unlock new **** addition of missions that allow you to control fixed turret positions to prevent demons from reaching sensitive objectives, such as the implementation of driving sections where on board Vivienne's motorbike, Mondo's blonde multi-armed colleague, moving to the sides of the screen we should escape enemy attacks diversify the gameplay a bit but without really adding anything **** beautiful nurse Scarlett, if found within the levels of the main missions, allows you to unlock a series of survival challenges to do within an arena: resist a certain amount. of seconds, eliminate certain types of enemies, not take damage etc. All to increase the longevity of the **** matters little if the enemies manage to get the better of the player as it will be possible for the intervention of the teenage assistant Mika, who is able to help the protagonist regain his strength with a rescue maneuver of his own, with the sound of punches on the chest as long as have tickets available to convene it.Based on the vote obtained at the end of the mission, whether main or secondary, the player will receive a cash prize to spend on purchasing upgrades or various objects (bouquets of flowers, chewing gum, perfumes, music records, Mika tickets and more) that they will come in handy in the **** the desire to shred or run over (with the motorbike) the worst creatures that populate the earth and the moon fades, it is possible to alternate the missions with appointments with the protagonist's beautiful "**** the complete review, come and visit us on ****
As a fan of Suda51's previous works, especially the No More Heroes series, I was looking forward to Killer is Dead. It's a fun hack and slash beat 'em up however the bad really outweighs the good.
After playing the first few missions I was finding the story to get interesting but unfortunately it ends up being a missed opportunity with a plot that goes all over the place and characters that really get no development.
I admire it's stylish cel-shaded look but with the repetitive gameplay and unsatisying story I couldn't recommend anyone to buy this.
I dont care about the sexist stuff. It not feminist but its no more blatantly sexist than the other artless dreck you see in popular culture. But that brings me to the real problem here, I meant it when I said OTHER artless dreck, all the people harping about "liberal" this and "feminist" that, trying to dismiss the scores of negative reviews as only being that way because the reviewer was offended, they should try READING these reviews instead of the cliff notes. ITS ONE BIG ENDLESS MESS, it makes no sense at all, and every single thing that people here love to say is "art" is a poorly executed carbon copy of stereotypical japanese "cool" stolen from some anime that executed it with more skill and originality. Unless thats what you want, the same old garbage, stay away.
SummaryKiller Is Dead is a title from the demented mind of celebrated game creator, SUDA51, serving as a spiritual successor to his previous cult favorites, No More Heroes and Killer 7.
