    Without being the most accessible shooter ever, Metal Gear Online is compelling, and perfectly able to grasp players for quite some time.

    If, however, Konami plans to turn this into an ongoing spin-off with commercial potential then it needs serious work to either shape it into something outlandish that could only be done online with the Metal Gear series, or to better blend the Metal Gear elements into the established tropes of the multiplayer action genre.

    Best shooter ever. This game had the best game-play mechanics, communication functionality, maps, game modes, and skilled players... I wouldn't trade my experience with this game for anything in the world. It was unfortunate when the servers were shut down, but I'll never forget the joy I had playing MGO.… Expand

    Not bad -- stealth is unfortunately very pared down. Maybe it's just because I'm not very good. Fun diversion.

    The game itself is probably the best video game I've ever had the pleasure of playing, but the online action is lacking. The drebin points system in online play is a little annoying. You should be able to keep points at the very least so that you could "unlock" other weapons such as in Call of Duty 4 online. It would also be nice to view player stats in the lobby. Friend invites should be made easier as well. Overall I give it a 7.… Expand

    the game was good... until i kept on getting disconnected from the network and eventually i couldn't even get to the online menu. then everytime i picked MGO from the game menu my gam ended an i ended back on the PS menu. game is good but too long on getting it started and it has too many errors and glitchs.… Expand
