Competently put together and actually pretty well presented. [Issue#194, p.95]

Pure Football is a nice soccer game, but it could have been a lot better. The gameplay is fun, but it has some complications. Visually the game is nice, but the audio isn’t, because it’s kind of empty. Pure Football is a nice combination of FIFA Street and 2010 FIFA World Cup. Short: a nice game, but could have been a lot better.
  3. No serious competition for FIFA Street. The gameplay is not dynamic and badly coordinated. Only the campaign mode is somewhat fun.

While not being a complete bomb, Ubisoft's take on arcade soccer is fundamental flawed. You're probably better off tuning into the World Cup itself rather than sitting down with Pure Football.
  5. Relegation fodder. [Aug 2010, p.117]

Pure Futbol is a mess of a soccer game. Its cover claims that an authentic experience awaits, but what's actually in store for players who pick up this game is far from the real deal.
  7. Pure Football may be an arcade take on the sport, but that doesn't excuse its repetitive gameplay and general lack of game modes.
  8. The most telling problem though, is that even when playing with the very best squad of footballers that Pure can muster, it just isn't engaging and fluid enough to be of interest for more than a couple of matches.
  9. Ubisoft may have been overly optimistic with their chances of entering the arcade football market. The concept of Pure Football is solid, but ultimately it needed a lot more work prior to release.
  10. Watch the World Cup on television and bypass this effort.
  11. If only the gameplay was better. [Aug 2010, p.96]
