  • Summary: New York City has been invaded and only Spider-Man can save it. The fate of New York is in your hands...Take Control. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows gives you an unprecedented level of gameplay choice, including, for the first time, control over the game's direction and outcome. Choose how Spider-Man fights, which powers to upgrade, who in the Marvel universe to fight with or against, and the fate of New York City itself. Choose wisely. [Activision] Collapse

  1. Web of Shadows assembles a great cast of heroes and villains, combines them with a fantastic story, and integrates an intuitive and exciting control scheme and evolving combat system that easily makes this the best Spider-Man game ever made to date for any system.

An extremely enjoyable ride. If you can get past doing the same objectives to progress the story such as having to beat up a certain amount of bad guys or saving so many civilians, and forgive the camera issues, this game is more than awesome.
  3. Web of Shadows is a major improvement from the last Spider-Man game which should give Spider-Man fans some renewed faith in their friendly neighborhood super-hero.
  4. Web of Shadows unfortunately, while sporting some inventive features, has nothing else to detach it from its earlier predecessors and the fast paced combat and the nimble webslinging are just not enough to carry the game.

This is the first Spiderman game I've ever really played and it hasn't disappointed me yet. It makes me feel like I am Spiderman, and isn't that the point of a "Spiderman game". Web-strike is awesome!! There are minor glitches with camera angle (which is to be expected, I mean come on, it's Spiderman) and the voice acting is a bit "off" but, all in all, I think it's a great game. Expand
  3. Pros: fun gameplay, city is huge, web-swinging is fun, good story. Cons: not exactly deep, repetitive combat, running is too sharp, city is boring, bad graphics, weak cutscenes. OVERALL: enjoyable in parts but once you finish the game you have to start a new file. and there should be more things to do in the city. Expand

The best thing to do in this game is by far the swinging around. It's fluid, responsive and looks good, animations are top notch. There's more moves to pull of such as wall running, crawling sliding etc it's all good... That is until the glitches kick in, and completely ruin the experience. You can be soaring through the air at breakneck speed, only for Spidey to come to an instant stop in mid-air, witness his world load before him, then drop down vertically. Other times, he may just disappear altogether requiring a restart or load. Levelling up is incredibly easy. Unfortunately, it requires you to collect 2000 tokens around the city and it's boring, but makes the game better once it's finally done.
Combat is pretty good, nothing major though still the best in Spidey games so far. Red or black suits have different moves.
Voice Acting is rubbish (except Black Cat) and the story is dull with basic red or black suit choices. Basically, it's a decent game. Best Spidey game anyway.
