The Tony Hawk for pre-teens. And this game gets played just as much. A lot of rehashing catch phrases makes you want to keep the volume down low and turn up the surfing music. Maybe I'm being too hard on it, but the game doesn't have much substance.

Surfs Up is an attempt to copy Tony Hawks but gone a bit wrong. Way too repetitive for any real credit but a passable game for the family. Great for co-op though.

  1. Younger kids will love it and come back for more. A fun concept, well executed.
  2. A competitive mutiplayer mode adds some longevity, but for a game that costs $50, three hours of single-player gameplay is simply unacceptable. [Sept 2007, p.84]

The gameplay is simple but enjoyable and kids in love with the movie are sure to have a good time with the game, but the fact remains that this is a bloated price tag on a barebones game.
