  1. The Punisher: No Mercy is an aggressively mediocre FPS in my opinion.
  2. While the Punisher will probably always remain one of my favourite comic book anti-heroes I’m afraid that the next time I read one of his comics I may end up hearing that terrible voice in my head. The true punishment here is playing The Punisher: No Mercy.
  3. At the end of day gaming is all about having fun. If you’re looking for a simple, mindless shooter to spend a few minutes of your time, then No Mercy can fit the bill. But if you’re looking for a game that will keep you coming back for more and more then you should look elsewhere.
  4. Frank Castle's latest game is not what we hoped it to be. A mere Unreal Tournament clone without soul, despite having such a great franchise in the title. Unoriginal and basic all around, it can be a fun game, but only for short game periods.

It's definitely playable, and respectable value at a penny under seven quid. [Sept 2009, p.112]
  6. Fans of The Punisher will enjoy the comic panel cut-scenes, but the gritty world created by Marvel is lost in a sea of technical problems and monotony.

Fun but short single player, let down by poor online play. [Sept 2009, p.76]
  8. It’s just nothing special, that’s all. But if you want some simple, straightforward, fairly well done FPS fun for only ten bucks (and you don’t have to go anywhere to nab it, either), feel free to give it a shot. It’s a surprisingly fast download and you’ll be blowing away baddies before you know it. Just don’t expect too much.
  9. With its vices and virtues, The Punisher No Mercy may be worthy to spend some time in multiplayer matches without much complication. Of course there are many and better alternatives in the same terrain, but it offers some fun for a lesser price.
  10. Punisher: No Mercy isnt going to set your world alight, however for a budget title it aint half bad.
  11. Sadly, The Punisher: No Mercy is a complete waste of a license for a comic book antihero that does have out there amongst gamers a loyal following.

Waste of money. For $10 you can get countless games from this generation that all function as well as or better than Punisher: No Mercy, whichWaste of money. For $10 you can get countless games from this generation that all function as well as or better than Punisher: No Mercy, which is nothing more than a hyped Unreal Tournament 3 mod that you pay for. I beat the "story" mode in under one hour of playtime, and multiplayer is "equip the rocket launcher until you fall down" mode. So it's Unreal, but slower and without the weapon variety. Just go out and get The Orange Box, or even the actual Unreal Tournament 3, both under $20 retail nowadays, cheaper on Steam, and play the games that inspire developers to make games like Punisher: No Mercy instead. The Unreal Engine on its death bed (its beginning to look terrible), only on life support by the cheap devs that want a quick engine (it does work for cheap games I suppose). While its only $10, your not getting that much. Single player is a massive 3 stages of surviving waves of enemies or kill a set amount. Guns are ok. Only fun first 10 minutes, fades quick. Hit detection is terrible, especially in multiplayer. Whether it be extreme lag, or people cheating in multiplayer already, I dont know (its not my connection), I was skipping around the map, continuously dying from questionable shots, not to mention theres maybe 20 people on. Overall, not worth it. I played it for an hour, and I probably wont touch it again. Theres other games that deserve my time than this dull, repetitive mess with a headache multiplayer. Full Review »
