  • Summary: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is your last chance to rescue America's sexiest city from an escalating terrorist siege that will force you into heart-pounding action from beginning to end. Sin City is back and bigger than before. Explore all new Vegas hot spots as the environment changes from dusk to bright daylight to dawn, creating a visual experience that is as challenging as it is breathtaking. The multiplayer mode in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas has been upgraded to include 11 new, smaller maps that force more intense face-offs, 2 new adversarial modes, more rewards, and easier access to matches using the improved and intuitive matchmaking system. Create your own identity that stays the same in both single player and multiplayer modes and progresses as you do. Reap the benefits of your single player rewards in multiplayer and vice versa. Turn single player mode into co-op mode at any time, just by jumping into the game. Now your friend can jump into your single player game and help you without any change to the story. Single player maps and storyline were created with co-op in mind, which means every map has multiple entry points and the story is the same. AI is more challenging than ever. Now, the terrorists are equipped with thermal vision, night vision, and shields – not to mention a multitude of varying reactions – all of which are guaranteed to give you a new playing experience every time you go into battle. As you progress within the game, you'll only be able to outsmart your enemies by taking advantage of intel opportunities, such as thermal scanning, and tactical strategies, such as leapfrogging. Take down the terrorists more effectively using 11 new weapons. New camouflage, clothing and gear allow you to take customization to the next level. [Ubisoft] Expand

  1. Vegas 2 is still is one hell of a game. It is definitely the best shooter on the PS3 this year, if not the best shooter on the console overall.
  2. Vegas 2 is easily the best in the long line of Rainbow Six games, and comes very highly recommended for any first person shooter fan looking for a challenge.
  3. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 isn’t the best sequel ever made, but it’s still a great tactical shooter in its own right.
  4. When it comes to tactical shooters, it’s hard to find anything better than this. While the previous title already offered brilliant gameplay, Vegas 2 still manages to introduce some minor touches that make it even better. But although it’s a great multiplayer experience it still doesn’t manage to deliver the definite co-op formula. [Apr 2008]
  5. The gun-play is excellent, the production values are top notch and the multiplayer game modes will keep you coming back months down the line. As long as you're not expecting a complete overhaul of the gameplay seen in the original, Vegas 2 will provide plenty of terrorist hunting fun.

It's simply not as good as the last version. [Issue#164, p.82]
  7. It refuses to take any meaningful gambles. Fans may enjoy having more of their favorite game, but they might also find it drab and boring after so much of the same.

This game is excellent, not a huge deviation from the original but if you loved the original you'll love this one. It's also perfect for getting away from the COD4 chaos for a while. Highly Recommended. Expand

PS3 version is garbage compared to 360's. It only runs on 720p on PS3, and 1080p on 360. Online is garbage on PS3 (As usual). You want to actually play this game right? Get it on 360. Also, Anonymous, get a better internet connection if you can't connect to games. Expand

R6V 1 was one of the best online games ever for FPS fans. This one maybe had too much to live up to after seeing COD4 but there are things that should have been fixed which weren't. Spawn camping is still possible, server connection drops, a bad lobby system where you spend half the time waiting for a game, and your so-called leet SWAT pro is still flagging around corners. There were cheaters in R6V 1 who had full armor with full mobility and bulletproof heads, can't tell yet whether the cheating has been fixed. Still, its a super fun multiplayer when it works so once a patch comes out it will be a 9/10 game. Expand

Great follow-up to r6v. r6v2 is better in some ways, and worse in others. The plot isn't nearly as put together as the first. The mechanics are just as good as the first, and the customization is ridiculously deep. Alot of weapons to choose from and the maps are all really good. They probably could have benefited from a few more months of polishing, but the game is awesome. Expand

Having not played the first game I had to admit this one seemed like the ultimate tactical shooter, however after seeing the first game being played it was practically identical in nearly every way. Then after a while it got boring...really boring. Now after about 2 months I never play on it anymore. Expand

it just felt slowpaced, the in game messaging good add but seems botched. still one of the worst experiances in a game yet. (well since the first R6V) too hard to get a game online withyour friends. basically the same game as the first vagas. persionally i hated it. best getting CoD4. Expand
