Sep 7, 201292Fall of Cybertron is the best Transformers game fans have ever seen.
-
Aug 21, 201290It's the most faithful treatment of the Transformers brand for fans across any medium in recent years, and it manages the feat while remaining welcoming to new potential players. It's also a clear message to the world that High Moon Studios has joined that most rarified breed of game developer that can create an honest-to-goodness great licensed game.
-
Sep 4, 201285The Fall of Cybertron isn't without its issues, but it's filled with great moments and enthralling experiences worthy of any Transformer fan and anyone wanting to explore the origins of the Transformers.
-
Aug 27, 201285Fall of Cybertron surpasses its predecessor in almost every way and is therefore the best Transformers game on the market. It's got its fair share of problems though: disappointingly bad textures, online connection problems and some annoying glitches and freezes somewhat spoil the fun.
-
Aug 21, 201285Campaign co-op is definitely missed, but Fall's superior single-player mode goes a long way to make up for it.
-
Oct 1, 201283It's a pity that your enemies can't transform themselves and the game only gets going when it puts you behind the wheel (pun intended) of the sneaky Cliffjumper in a level that feels like a tribute to Uncharted. It even has the same voice actor. [October 2012, p.68]
-
Oct 9, 201280A tale of two games, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron plods through its opening acts only to redeem itself with a strong showing at the end. Plenty of fan service will make series vets smile.
-
Sep 25, 201280Transformers newcomers will be sated by the solid shooting and platforming on offer, provided they don't expect anything revolutionary. But if you are a fan, the many fan favourite cameos conspire to make the stock-standard feel special. [October 2012, p.72]
-
Sep 24, 201280As a package, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron's lack of ambition is countered by an obvious fondness for the Transformers themselves and the amount of polish that has been lavished on its presentation and mechanics. Gamers looking for something new will find little here to draw them in, but as a celebration of Hasbro's iconic cast of characters there is much here to be recommended, and plenty for High Moon Studios to build on should it get another chance to work with the robots in disguise.
-
Sep 17, 201280If are looking for a good dose of Transformers, is precisely what you will find in Fall of Cybertron.
-
Sep 10, 201280This is big and dumb where Bats was sleek and considered. But this is still a triumph – especially on a fan-service level – and absolutely deserving of a titanic culmination to the trilogy. These Robot Wars are more than worth your time.
-
Aug 31, 201280I was taken by surprise with War on Cybertron and how well that turned out. And, honestly, I think Activision and High Moon probably felt the same way. The gameplay was steady and the multiplayer was just really fun. This sequel carries on that favorable edge.
-
Aug 30, 201280You can tell that the developers are fans of Transformers because the whole campaign is filled with love and respect for the source material. The lacking multiplayer prevents Fall of Cybertron from reaching the highest peaks, but it's still a really great game.
-
Aug 29, 201280Overall, it's a superior game to War for Cybertron - from fixing the ammo situation to having a more variety in gameplay. The fact that you aren't playing through two campaigns which are virtually the same helps. It still offers up more for the aging Transformers fan, than the younger shooter fanatic.
-
Aug 29, 201280High Moon Studios achieved for Transformers what Rocksteady managed to do for Batman. This is the way licensed-games are done right.
-
Aug 27, 201280Ultimately, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is a game that doesn't attempt to be anything that it isn't.
-
Aug 21, 201280Another fantastic adventure to the world of Cybertron by the folks at High Moon Studios-but one that combines some excellent new elements and gameplay offerings with a smattering of peculiar omissions and design choices.
-
Aug 21, 201278It's better than its predecessor in pretty much all areas except flexibility. But this is okay. The lack of flexibility actually gives the game more of an identity.
-
Sep 29, 201276A thoughtful shooter that works well within the limitations of the license. [Nov 2012, p.100]
-
Aug 28, 201276Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is indeed a blockbuster movie in the form of a video game. If that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. The control won't let you down, all your favorite characters are here, there's enough variety and diversity in terms of missions and gameplay elements, and you always feel super powerful.
-
Sep 10, 201275The Escalation mode and the singleplayer are the main causes as to why Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is a nice third-person shooter. The game is far from perfect and that doesn't help to make this an unforgettable experience. It's fun for a while, but disappears in the back of your closet soon enough.
-
Sep 6, 201275Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is like a theme park. You get a ticket for all the rides, though they all aren't quite as exciting as the next. A few of them offer amazing action, in which you'll run, drive shoot and fly through levels, all the while other rides aren't as great. Fortunately the developers save the best for last and you're given a ticket to the nice multiplayer.
-
Oct 2, 201273If the vehicles were up to snuff then this would be a game worth celebrating. [Issue#223, p.85]
-
Sep 27, 201270Take control of well known Transformers and battle your foes both as robot and vehicle. There are some problems with bugs and the controls, but apart from that it's a fast paced and action filled game. If you're a fan of Transformers then this is a must buy.
-
Sep 20, 201270It's not innovative or wildly creative, but the gameplay is fun and the multiplayer is excellent. [Nov 2012, p.80]
-
Sep 17, 201270There's a lot to like about the game's single-player campaign, but sloppy shooting and some technical issues detract from its cinematic achievements. Once again multiplayer is perhaps the highlight of the package, serving up a punchy competitive and co-operative experience that, while unlikely to consume your gaming attention for months on end, is a lot more than meets the eye.
-
Sep 13, 201270Fall of Cybertron is undoubtedly an improvement over an already impressive debut, yet it doesn't feel nearly as invigorating or daring as War for Cybertron did.
-
Sep 12, 201270Released two years after War for Cybertron, Transformers : Fall of Cybertron had plenty of time to correct the mistakes of the first episode. However, instead of doing so, the developers prefered to work on the different robots players could play with in the sequel. Thereby, featuring a varied gameplay, Fall of Cybertron appears to be a good game to blow off some steam, just hoping the next sequel will be better.
-
Sep 5, 201270As a straight-up action adventure game, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron it's falls short in terms of excellence, but the titantic epicness of the concluding shots is so awesome that any Transformers fan should grab Fall of Cybertron if one's willing to overlook the shortcomings of some of the game mechanics.
-
Aug 21, 201265Offers some entertaining action, lots of explosions, and too many technical hiccups.
